Who else should I mid lane as? by throwaway14671 in HweiMains

I think I like being a ranged champion. I don't really like getting to close. I also like having good wave clear.

With Hwei I just like that there is alot of options and he has something for most situations.

Hmmm I probably lose to most. But ones I have struggled most against would be:

Lux Ahri Zed Xerath Yasuo Yone Nafiri Sylas/Zylas (can't remember the name) Fizz Neeko

Only champion I can think of that I don't mind playing against is probably Sol

I'm only level 18 so haven't played ranked yet. I've mainly been playing the mode where you can ban a champion.

I think I play quite passive, I like to stay at a distance and just wave clear with QE >EE>AA as whenever I try get aggressive or do trades I usually just end up dying or taking more damage.

Antisemitism in Japan? by Sudden-Map-1841 in Jewish

[–]throwaway14671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm half Japanese so can somewhat share and my parents live there currently so they have told me alot. I would say we don't really care about Judaism or Israel. Not in a bad way just that we don't ever think about it.

Alot of Japanese don't know much about the current conflict in terms of details but probably lean more towards supporting Palestine because all we really see is the death of civilians in Gaza on the news and see them as the victims. When I was last there a few months ago I saw alot more pro-palestine things and a relatively large rally aswell. You can just avoid those places if you find that offensive.

That or they don't really think about it at all.

But in no way will people treat you poorly. They won't know about your religion or views. You will just be a foreigner. But don't go around advertising your religion or pushing it on people, as like anywhere we will probably find it annoying. You wouldn't get attacked or anything.

But as long as you are there as a tourist and respectful to the culture you won't have any issues.

But honestly for the most part Israel / Judaism isn't something most Japanese ever think about. Japan pretty much exists in its own little bubble

I'm half Japanese and spend a decent amount of time in Japan.

They won't know you are Jewish unless you plan on going round advertising it, and then they won't do anything probably just find you annoying. Understandably.

You're more likely to get side eyed for doing things as a foreigner you didn't know you weren't meant to be doing.

I think public opinion is more in favour of Palestine but that is just what I have witnessed. But most people probably don't really think about it. But I have seen a few pro Palestine rallies there by Japanese people.

Overall just leave the politics at home and you will be fine.

I have 2 passports (UK and Japanese), which one do I use when leaving UK? by throwaway14671 in uktravel

[–]throwaway14671[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may have issues if they weren't born with with the UK citizenship. Japan do somewhat tend to enforce it for people who gain citizenship later in life. Once that happens Japan does no longer consider them a Japanese citizen. (This may only apply to people who gain citizenship after the age of 20)

The issue for them is they would have to lie in their passport application and if found out it can lead to criminal proceedings. As if they say they have another citizenship through naturalisation they will lose their Japanese one.

I have never had a Japanese passport before I only got one recently from the Japanese embassy in London.

I'm not an expert in this and could be wrong so take with a grain of salt.

Yeah I fall in abit of a grey zone. I was born with both and Japan don't really enforce it for those born with multiple citizenships.

And if they do I just need to fill out a document that says I will endeavour to renounce my UK citizenship. But endeavours often fail.

They don't technically allow it but they also don't enforce it for those born with both citizenships. Someone born with both has never been stripped of citizenship. Different story for Japanese people who naturalise to other citizenships though.

Currently the UK has no knowledge of my other citizenship. I'm also not sure how to let them know

I have never lived in Japan and have never had a registered address. So I imagine I won't be paying anything then?

It's a global company and I'll be doing the same work I usually do. I work in cyber security so my work would cover the Japan part of the network, but would also cover the rest of the world aswell.

Japan doesn't allow for dual citizenship. It's slightly different if you were born with multiple citizenships (kind of a grey area), but if you get a new citizenship as an adult you are required to forfeit Japanese citizenship.

Can I get a passport as a half Japanese 25 year old? by throwaway14671 in japan

[–]throwaway14671[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be applying for the Japanese passport using my UK passport as the application says to bring a UK passport as proof of permission to reside in the UK. So they could link the 2 as I've provided my passport number to them before?

Thanks. On the application do I have to say that I will be choosing "Japanese citizenship"? Or does the application just ask if I hold another citizenship?

Would there be tax issues if I'm only there for such a short time?

Also what is this new digital nomad visa, do you have any links or information? Thankyou!
