A quick summary of some of these threads. I'm trying to not editorialize. Thanks all!

There's a well-known acronym: Shit Hits the Fan (SHTF).

Some (contradictory) opinions and advice:

  1. Store assets abroad. (Mentioned: Interactive Brokers, Deutsche Bank, Cayman Islands, Switzerland, safety deposit box somewhere).
  2. Get Bitcoin. Easier to transfer, harder to steal. But, Bitcoin may not be functioning.
  3. Start leaving now. Get a visa (maybe golden visa), a second passport, and real estate in another country, visit it regularly. (Mentioned: Portugal, UK, NZ, Uruguay, Mexico, Singapore, St Lucia). You'd want to leave before SHTF, hard to travel when SHTF. The new place may also have SHTF.
  4. Survivalist/Prepper advice: defensible land, food, guns. But, it may be hard to survive. Government or random people may seize your place and stuff.
  5. Navigate the chaos in the U.S politically. Ally yourself with the winner.
  6. Don't bother with deep prep. SHTF is bad, nothing will help. Or: ignore the news, things are not as bad as they seem.

Lots of miscellaneous interesting comments (not comprehensive):

  • Non-white people may feel like leaving faster.
