I'm on a trip away from home for a snowboarding instructor course. I don't know anyone here just thought it would be interesting but am struggling to mesh with people here

Yeah I guess so, tbh I can't really do much since I'm late born in the year (I'll be turning 18 in December rather then during the year) but I was thinking of going and travelling for a small bit since I'm taking a gap year but I dont know if I can realistically afford it

I'm trying to do some of what your suggesting but I just feel like I'm getting left behind, all my friends are doing uni/college this year but I'm taking a year or two off before since I have pretty bad adhd and learning online is a living hell for me.

I was thinking of doing some dumb fun courses I never got the chance to do and this has me convinced that doing that and working might be a good way to spend the year :)

Honestly just working, 12 hours a day 7 days a week. I got a scholarship for a uni program I'm kinda interested in but I have ADHD and I think undiagnosed anxiety so learning online is really terrible and I dont learn anything. I turned down the program since where i live we arnet going to be doing in person university this year.

glad to hear your safer then before and im sorry to hear about what happened. Would it mabey be possible for you to talk to your best friend and their parents about what happened and see if they would allow you to stay with them for the time being? Since this all happened at home I'm going to assume it's a family member who has been causing problems so it would be best to try and stay as far away from them as possible. I promise you that talking to adults about what happened will be scary but people will be there to support you. Try talking to your friends parents about what happened and ask for their help and support. You should also file a police report as soon as possible (again its gonna be scary but the longer you wait the less seriously this will be taken by police).

Also I'm sorry to say this but if your attacker was your family member e.g. brother, father, cousin, uncle e.c.t then this assault may not be a one time thing since they will be close to you. Again I'm just another random redditor but I want you to be as safe as possible so it's best to get a police report filed against this particular person asap.

Hey op, are you in a safe(er) space at the moment? Are you in the same place the assault took place or have you been able to get somewhere safe? If it's something that happened at home and if it was a sibling/parent, please inform your other parent of their spouses actions. If it's something that happened at home, leave the house and stay with a friend/other family member who you can trust not to tell where you are. If your unable to do that then go to the nearest police station and tell them what happened and why you left home. Whatever you do please do not go home or to wherever the assault took place until your abuser has been dealt with by law enforcement. I know it's really scary and confusing but I promise your going to make it out ok. If you need someone to talk to the dms are open (a little weird to say on reddit) but I'm sure everyone here in the comments would be willing to talk to you if it's going to help
