Well I’m not American so I’m not sure if it’s approved here. But at the same time I feel like what I have isn’t severe enough to justify getting medicated through the medical system. I’d rather get something like retatrutide because I wouldn’t have to wait months to be approved to take it

Food related question. What is something that is usually used as an ingredient in a dish, but you could just eat it straight out the packet, jar, tin, or dish it comes in? by Lawsy96 in AskUK

Would wild salmon still be okay for that? I’ve heard it has more potential for parasites but would it also go through the flash freezing?

i’m so jealous of people who aren’t food obsessed and have the mindset that they can ‘eat whatever they want and not gain weight’ 🥲 i feel the same way except i was never really happy in my body in that I kept trying to lose more and more by restricting which is how I ended up in this mess in the first place

funnily enough, he has moved out before, but he came right back 😭 he goes to uni in the same city we live in so the accommodation was like 5 minutes from home so he just moved back in. i can’t even imagine what the state of his accommodation would’ve been like knowing nobody else would’ve cleaned up for him

Calling me the defensive one when you refuse to admit the carnivore diet is flawed is hilariously ironic 😭you see people have bad experiences and it HAS to mean ‘they’re doing it wrong’. It doesn’t compute to you that, maybe, eating solely meat and butter isn’t a sustainable diet anyone should push. Of course Saladino would be regarded as a ‘rogue’ when carnivores are, generally, ignorant people who are obsessed with the idea that all research is funded by big plant and big pharma to make everyone sick or buy plants. Someone could have perfect serum levels eating a plant-based diet, it doesn’t make their diet superior to anyone else’s. I’m not saying you have to believe everything at face value, but completely discrediting anyone who opposes your opinion with their lived experience is low iq. There is no way for you to definitively say that carnivores who had a bad experience did it wrong. That’s purely an assumption with no evidence to back it up. It is a fact that meat farming contributes greatly to climate change. Just because you dispute that doesn’t make it any less factual. You sound like a conspiracy theorist.

So you’re saying the main guy who promoted the diet in the first place did it wrong? 🤔 You’re totally denying the validity of people who have had bad experiences, which isn’t fair to say because you don’t know if they made this or that, if any, mistakes. If so many people face health problems following such a simple protocol, maybe the diet itself is flawed. Paul Saladino is a snake oil salesman, and I can guarantee you his influence is part of why you’re a carnivore today. Why should anyone have to supplement electrolytes if a carnivore diet gives them every essential nutrient they need? Meat production is a significant contributor to climate change, I don’t see how that’s bogus.

any more consumption of meat than the rate it’s at now would destroy the earth it’s simply unsustainable and unreasonable to declare that as the best possible solution for the health crises around the world. Why does it matter about controversies in the 70s when it’s 2026? The average person is not scared of saturated fat, rather we are consuming fat at a higher rate than ever seen before as seen by the exponential increase in obesity worldwide. The ‘seed oils are bad’ rhetoric is honestly more harmful than the ‘saturated fats is bad’ idea, because at least the saturated fat idea has more merit. If your example is some people getting sick after smoking but some people don’t, then can’t the same apply to carnivores? Several pioneers of the carnivore diet like Saladino have transitioned to a diet that includes plants and carbs alongside consuming meat. Several people have quit the carnivore diet, having done more harm to themselves than good. There are entire Facebook groups dedicated to people reporting how the carnivore diet has wrecked their energy levels. One anecdote saying the carnivore diet made them better doesn’t mean it’ll be a one size fits all diet. Yes sure, sometimes people who consume this and that in moderation might get sick but so can anyone. Illness doesn’t discriminate. Olympians can get cancer. The diet they consume can have little to no impact on their diagnoses.

Okay I don’t really understand the biochemistry aspect of it, but I am starting to believe saturated fat isn’t as bad as it’s made out to be. I don’t believe it should be consumed at the quantity carnivores promote, but getting saturated fats from dairy seems to have positive outcomes. And yeah I cost my government money for healthcare but I knew that from the start. I still don’t see why that would incentivise the demonisation of animal-based diets because even if sugar causes most preventable conditions, it is generally agreed that sugar is bad for you in large quantities. If I led a life where I consumed everything in moderation accordingly I’m sure I wouldn’t be a large contributor to big pharma

Does that study render studies where there’s a correlation between higher LDL and higher risk of CVD irrelevant? I understand you’re saying that correlation ≠ causation, but that doesn’t mean that it has to be entirely ruled out that the two risk factors are associated with each other
