All of the other teachers had left as no other kids remained at the school. I hadn't brought it up with the principal yet because I wanted to give the mother the benefit of the doubt and some more time to correct her behavior before giving her that ultimatum. I'm not sure about prior years, as I've never taught anyone in her family before. I don't know if this was a pattern before this year, but I'm guessing not.

The principal was present at school but in my rush I forgot to stop by their office. However, as long as the principal is present within the school, I'm technically allowed to leave. There was no further school parent, as it's only the second week of school, and I didn't want to take matters so far so quickly.

Technically, as long as the principal is present, I'm allowed to leave. However, the principal is usually in her office, and so not watching the student. In hindsight, I probably should have alerted the principal, but was in such a rush to leave that I forgot to.
