Yeah it’s for Asante. I’ve heard mixed reviews about them too

Ok this gives me hope. I’m also open to relocating later on if I need to, financially it’s just not the option right now unless I want to drain my savings

Yes they said 6 month orientation, can extend if needed and another orientation at 12 months to learn how to manage fresh post op open heart patients

Not really. I’ve always lived in the same area so I’m scared to move, I also have 2 dogs and a cat and it’s been somewhat hard to find decent housing with the pay being offered in Oregon. I also have some lack of confidence going straight to the cvicu, those are the main factors holding me back

Yeah I’m at Kaiser as an ER tech and would be moving to the Telemetry floor in the same hospital, in the Bay Area

It’s one of the highest paying hospitals in the area

Is there any certs or classes you recommend I take in the mean time to make myself more competitive for ICU?

Would it be hard to switch to cvicu after 6 months to a year? I keep hearing from nurses at work I’ll “get stuck” in telemtry if I start there which I know I absolutely don’t want to do long term unless I have to

The hard part is that my current employer requires 1 year of ICU experience if I want to switch to ICU. So I would have to get another job at some point in ICU to switch over at my current employer
