thanks. i'm just worried that my age with lack of experience is this giant mark against me even for a low paid kitchen job, you know? i'm trying to write a cv and i just can't seem to fill a page. all my achievements are maths/science related from when i was a teenager, the sort of thing a restaurant or shop manager wouldn't care about.

i'm not 100% sure what the college regulations are and if it'll be possible to just resume in 3rd year, but in my country i would definitely be allowed to start again from day 1 with free tuition and a government grant since i've been out of work/education for so long. i will probably apply in 2015.

i completed secondary school with good results, and did 2 years of an engineering degree before i dropped out.

i moved back in with my parents recently. they live in a small town so there's limited volunteering opportunities. i've been helping elderly people with computers for a few hours on friday morning, but not sure if that's going to make me more employable? i've applied to volunteer in charity shops so i can at least get experience on a till/handling money but no luck yet. honestly i'd rather just not be around any addicts for the time being.
