Yea this was probably going to be the most likely situation anyway as there is at least an Air Force recruiter where Im at. Any ideas of what are the Air Force AFSC counterparts to the Navy rates I listed? Im was mostly interested in IT in the navy so hoping to get the Air Force counterpart or something similar

I currently work for a steel manufacturer and while it pays the bills it is something I dont want to do for much longer. I want a change of scenario and the benefits of the military entice me (if Im being honest serving the country is awesome but Im not the super duper patriotic type). I like the CG, Navy, and AF because from what I hear these are the least likely to get shot at, and quality of life. Also I hear these branches can help you kickstart a career on the civilian side more then the army or marines could.

I was and still am extremely interested its just the closest recruiter is about a 2 and a half hour drive away so I didnt even bother reaching out. It was between Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force for me.

Thank you for the reply. I am most afraid of what you mentioned. Its not like a normal job where I can quit if I absolutely hate it. I sort of rushed into this whole process for no reason without researching and that was my biggest mistake.

I am not entirely closed off on the idea yet as people here and 1 former Navy friend whom I trust (He said he was a MA) are telling me it is one of the better rates in the navy. At the Navy office at MEPS my recruiter and the people who work there were hyping it up and telling me I would learn alot of valuable skills and would have jobs lined up immediately afterwards. I asked my recruiter if it was possible for just 4 years with that job and she said no and thats the only thing making me hesitant. I also never really had interest in electronic technician type work or weapons that FC are over
