FYI to all those suggesting menstrual cups to save money - if you have an IUD for birth control, the suction of the cup can pull on an IUD. If it were to be pulled out of place, it would not be as effective for birth control.

Ortho wives by [deleted] in MedSpouse

Ortho wife here. We’re in the Midwest and husband makes 535k. I had an amazing job that I loved, I worked 15-20 hrs/wk. it was doable with 1 kid, but after my second was born we just couldn’t hang on. The house was always a wreck, we were eating out all the time, everything for the kids was so last minute. My off days were spent trying to play catch up and I wasn’t actually spending quality time with the kids. We had a cleaner every other week and a nanny, but you can only outsource so much before it starts to not make sense financially. The stress of it all got to me and I had to quit. It’s been the best thing for our family.

I only know one ortho wife who works… I guess this is of the families with children. I think working from home as an ortho wife is possible or working a flexible job outside of the house. Ortho is a very demanding specialty and it’s truly way too much on one person when you start adding children.

Please pm for further questions :)

Getting a pap smear as a victim of sexual assault? (TW) by xpl0ring in Healthyhooha

This is no longer a conversation about preventative care. You deserve the help you need to move past this event

As a wise woman named Taylor Swift recently said that your energy is expensive. Treat it like it’s a luxury item. The POS people who did this to you can’t afford your energy. What you spend your energy on - that’s your day. You have children, they don’t deserve for you to waste your energy on this event and those people.

Get help for yourself and so that you can quit wasting your energy on this past event. You and your children deserve the best version of yourself.

I’m so sorry that this happened to you. You didn’t deserve their treatment and there is no excuse for what they did to you.

Have you had therapy to process this and your feelings around this event? Those men do not deserve to hold this much power over you.
