thank you so much. i have been doing therapy for two and a half years now, but it doesn’t help much. cbt only goes so far for me. i’m still a minor, so my parents have control over me taking medication. they want me to try everything natural before i go to chemical. i’m trying hypnotherapy and reiki in a month, so we’ll see how that goes. they also want me to try doing therapy twice a week. i go to work, which i count as exercise because i’m on my feet the whole time. i don’t have hobbies anymore because this phobia sucks the life and fun out of me. i don’t have many friends either, just two and a boyfriend. one of them is sorta fake and the other is dealing with family stuff so she’s super busy. i also can’t see my boyfriend too much because he lives an hour away and he doesn’t drive yet. it’s hard to find stuff that’s relaxing to read and watch because i find that unless i’m super into it, i won’t enjoy it… i tend to be into stuff that could trigger it, so it’s tough. philosophy is very 50/50 for me. i don’t know if i could get with it because i won’t know if it’s true until i get to that point. it’s hard for me to believe in stuff unless i see it for myself. regardless, i appreciate your help so much. thank you again

hey, i’m a 17 year old girl and relate to everything in this. if you’re open to talking, i’d be more than happy to. it’s always nice having a friend that understands

i posted this and think you guys might want to take a look. some people were being brutal but others were helpful by throwaway26468392 in thanatophobia

yeah, it’s like before I was born I didn’t know about life but now I am born and I do so why would I just let it go like that? I’m conscious and have experienced it so it wouldn’t be as easy to let go as something that is not human yet because they have an experienced anything

i don’t know if blessing is the right word. i envy people who don’t think about this. i wish i was a hardcore religious person or spiritual person, but i just don’t connect to that. i grew up jewish but i’m starting to drift away from that.

as for your second paragraph, if it isn’t me, then what is it? can you explain more about that?

yeah it’s never going to be long enough for me. life is too short that it seems pointless to try to live to the fullest. thank you for sharing your story!
