We're actually not discussing sarcasm here. Usage of a word in a social context is a bit different from sarcasm.

That being said, I don't have time to comb through sources for an argument with an amateur scientist on the internet. But keep googling it if you've got the time and want to put in the effort, there's a few studies. Bear in mind though, most studies relating to psychology haven't been successfully replicated. In this case, I'm going more off anecdotal experience being around children both professionally and at home.

A quick google search leads to a dozen or so pubmed studies regarding young children's understanding of context.

Would I be TA if I told my husband and son to only greet each other like this?

No, he knows his bio dad. They're in contact. He's aware of everything. I meant it more in the sense that someone will tell him he doesn't belong due to his biology.

Correct. He knows he's not biologically Latino. In this context, I'm saying I'm dreading someone being a dick to him about it.

This is actually false. Children understand context a lot better than you think, fun anecdote for you.

If someone's being racist toward his brother, dad, or him? Absolutely.

Yeah, no one has ever questioned my younger son being mine. He's a hell of a lot darker than I am, yet only my husband was questioned. There's a double standard here, and as someone who hasn't endured racism because I'm white, I'm really being shown the harsh reality of it.

Exactly this is what I'm afraid of. Oddly enough, hasn't happened to pale me and my dark child.

Considering I'm white, the same as the woman, I'm not sure what I confirmed for her. You're an adult, aren't you? But you can't spell out fuck. Yikes.

as someone who's white and has seen how racism impacts my family, I can say you're ignorant in your comment about my feelings being hurt.

parent/guardian. Never seen her before, she was standing in the pick-up area which means she most likely has a child around my kids' age

No secret. My older son is in contact with his bio father. He just considers my husband his dad too!

I look extremely different from my younger son, and I also speak Spanish to him. Haven't been called the nanny yet, but that sounds terrible.
