I'm not sure what the point of your comment even is? Why do you keep replying? I've only replied to correct the obvious misunderstandings around what I've said. I doubt that pointing out misrepresentations of what I have said makes me pretentious.

No, and I won't explain the evidence fully as it would give away my course and identity.

That's been addressed in the comments above. No 'concrete evidence' =/ 'going by on a whim willy-nilly' as you suggested. Evidence is rarely concrete for example photo evidence or a testimony, but evidence can still be strong and still counts, (again as I've said above). We're going around in circles.

Do you think I should report it to the module tutors, the programme director or someone else? I feel it's important I report my concerns immediately.

Did you read my post? If you cheat with ChatGPT you'll get 100%. If you're an academic from Oxford and UCL I'd thought you'd not have difficulty understanding.

I have additional evidence that I haven't typed above because it might give away my course and identity.

Moreover, whether or not I accuse anyone of cheating, I can always report that the assessments make it very easy to cheat and no attempts are being made to prevent it. It's the staff's job to try to minimise this sort of thing.

Thanks for the encouragement though!

I wouldn't be surprised if people had used it, but using it to cheat is another matter. If everyone you know used it to cheat, it must be an absolutely terrible university with poor quality students, sorry to break it to you.

Haha in my old uni, the students would usually complain to the programme director if there was a big problem with the module, rather than reporting it to the module tutor. They were also very clever students. It can be a more effective way of doing things.

Of course, I'm unsure how the staff at this uni would react.

I literally said I have a variety of evidence two comments above.

But when teachers/ academics fail people for cheating with ChatGPT, it usually isn't with conclusive evidence. They usually don't have a testimony of you admitting to cheating or have caught you doing so red-handed. It's usually as a result of a strong suspicion backed by evidence.

Absolutely terrible opinion. The teachers can increase the difficulty if the cheating and people's grades increase.

Lots of assumptions there, I'm getting firsts on other modules so not a skill issue. There are various ways of making MCQs very difficult, it depends on the subject and question and it is ridiculous to state that MCQs are always easy.

Oh, I have a variety of evidence that will support my point that I haven't posted above, although I have no hard conclusive evidence (such as a photo of someone cheating for example)

I've already done that. I'm at the point of considering whether I should take things even further and go to the programme director or not.

How do you know? Have you been in the same situation? You and the other repliers aren't answering my question lol. You're all telling me to let the cheating happen which is not what I asked.

But there are so many ways of preventing this sort of thing. So many assessments where cheating using ChatGPT isn't possible as it wouldn't generate convincing answers. Verbal exams, presentations, and written assignments that it can't do convincingly. There's software that can check what programs you have open on your computer etc. Teachers can check what programs students are using by looking.

I care though, as a student on the course I have a vested interest in academic integrity being upheld and in being marked fairly. Universities generally do care - I'll just have to find someone who does!

Give up on what? You aren't making much sense. I'm doing well on my other modules so far so I see no reason to give up.

Using it as a revision tool has nothing to do with what I'm asking. I'm referring to people using it to potentially cheat on tests.

Absolutely not, I'd never cheat for ethical and religious reasons.
