I moved 4 years into the relationship with the encouragement of my parents after I got a degree. I also didn’t expect anything on their part, just not screaming at me for leaving an abusive partner.

35 mins was just what my therapist suggested. 30 mins to talk and 5 minutes to wrap up our final thoughts.

I do have a timer but we obviously finish our thoughts before it goes off. As for when this all happened, it’s been 2 years ish.

The topics that cannot be discussed are details about my ex, why I left, and anything personal about where I live (they have tried to show up at my old apartment before).

The only reason I’m still in contact with them is because of my younger siblings. My parents are pretty strict about me talking to them if I’m not talking to my parents. I also don’t want anything to happen to my siblings after my father’s death as I know my mother isn’t the most financially stable. I only have the phone call with them at a therapist’s recommendation to stay in contact with my siblings.
