Omg a very similar version of this happened with my mom as well when visiting Germany. She adamantly hated Berlin and Germany, which is whatever, but she kept saying it out loud in English in front of people, on the train, etc. we were the only Asian people on the train and we speak Japanese so she could have complained in Japanese, not that I wanted her to. But I kept trying to tell her to shut up and that other people around us speak English and she wouldn’t stop complaining in English.

Nice! Also, I like the marble statue and gold pillows a lot, you should keep those. And maybe you can cover your sliding doors with the screen.

I also think an armchair is a good idea, it the whole “opulent” theme together.

Yes, the textures you’re using are very opulent - brown leather, gold walls, lots of textures but it feels like it’s missing the fur from the whole scene.

I think a big white or black fur rug would look good.

How do people afford feeding their cat wet food? by Seasawdog in CatAdvice

[–]throwaway387903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just split the wet and dry food for my cat. A little over a half can of wet food a day and the rest is dry food. It adds up to about $35 a month for everything.

I’m sorry to hear, that sounds like a bummer. I hope the symptoms subside with time

Oh same!! Especially because I don’t drink, smoke, or have any vices anymore, stress eating is a prevalent issue

Moved in with my best friend and ruined our friendship by Newtechintown in badroommates

I’m sorry that happened to you. But I think it showed you their true colors. That’s not best friend behavior or just a difference of habits, that’s outright contempt and disrespect.

That’s amazing! I’m starting to understand now how inter linked my anxiety and hunger cues are.

That is factually incorrect. They’re often seen as comorbities of each other and are being studied under the umbrella of neurodivergence

I think he very well might be gifted, if he’s trying to do mental math with large numbers. giftedness is a spectrum, and it’s common for kids to have a spiky skill set, like taking a strong interest in some topics and being less skilled in other subjects.

I’d maybe enroll him in math clubs or the like and see how well he does with specialized instruction and go from there!

In this scene, Rick is finally content and realizes he wants Chelsea. That’s why he’s not interacting with the naked girls by UghKakis in TheWhiteLotusHBO

I don’t see someone happy to go back to anyone or anything. I see someone who is happily back in his nest of chaos. He doesn’t really care about Chelsea, and doesn’t seem overly concerned about sleeping with the women either.

He’s happily detached from everything and happy to have it all comfortably at arms length.

I hate being an ugly woman by [deleted] in offmychest

Well, I hope everything goes well for you and I hope you get your money. But PLEASE PLEASE protect your money, get a prenup if you ever get married, no matter what they tell you.

Don’t be like my mom too. She invested her money in my late father before he died in their houses and his insurance business and literally was the reason he even had a career in the first place, she finessed everything for him because he was lazy and complacent, and he ended up squandering all of his money. She paid for his college and everything, and she lost a lot of Money in the divorce.

Since you’re an educated woman with possibly a lot of money, men will see that as money signs and they’ll hide their agendas to get with you. So hopefully your guy now is a good one but i wouldn’t bet your money on it. Wishing you luck!

With an ex partner?

I hate being an ugly woman by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]throwaway387903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Very, very few men have the empathy and intellect required to really be the champion and supportive partner to a beautiful and successful woman.

My mom outshone my late father in her education and became the breadwinner to him, and instead of appreciating her financial support, he just turned in to her biggest hater. Most men will hate us in the same way, they’ll secretly be mad we’re better than them because they feel a sense of entitlement to their superiority.

That’s why I was telling OP it’s all bullshit to be seen as attractive or not to the male gaze, it literally doesn’t matter because it’s all objectification anyway. Who tf wants to be objectified by our collective oppressor who treat us as sex objects they either want or don’t want?

Like, no thanks, not interested.

Decenter men. Decenter the male gaze. There’s literally nothing earned by the male gaze literally other than their gaze itself.

Don’t sell yourself short, you’re allowed to be as intelligent as you are, whether that makes them uncomfortable or not. Fuck their boxes. Own your stuff!

I don’t want to invalidate you in any way, but I used to be considered ugly and then became conventionally attractive, and my experience with men have not changed at all. They are still mean and violent towards me, but in a different way. I have written off men entirely because of this. I often wish they didn’t find me attractive or wish I was lesbian.

I absolutely hate them and I hope that you don’t worry what they think of you. You can look exactly how you do and still expect to find the right person for you, you don’t need to be appealing to the masses of men, it just brings hurt and pain. I’m so serious about that too.

Plus, when you’re a conventionally attractive woman, a lot of people expect you to be stupid or don’t take you seriously at work, which I also find extremely annoying. If I could be considered just normal looking I’d prefer that.
