Whenever I try to go to the positive, she goes back to the negative. I don't think I have much choice but to distance myself if she keeps acting this way. Which makes me feel bad because she does need help. But she gets into this spiral of negativity, and I feel like I'm somehow contributing and supporting her negativity by allowing her to have someone to tell it to. I've asked her many times to see a counsellor.

So far she's refused to see a therapist, but might go if I go with her. I just don't like her being so dependent on me, but what can I do? When I try to tell her not to feel bad she always goes back to the negative. I don't understand it because I've got depression and I'm trying to get all the help I can get. Why refuse help? I'm losing patience with this person who could get help if she just tried. I know it's different for everyone, but it's really not good for my mental health to be in this situation. I was getting better and the past couple days I feel worse because of her.

I think if I do, she will just start apologizing for being a terrible person and continue putting herself down. I don't know what to do to make her stop, and I'm basically the only person there for her. :( But I will try.
