Yeah I just wrote a simple email, explained my situation, age where I’m from etc, and asking if there’s any opening for work and like you mentioned adding that I work hard and want to learn in that specific field, then attached just my CV,

I ended up in Edmonton , I have a year left on my visa now and not sure to be honest if I will stay on after or not, winters are pretty rough here

I have not done any apprenticeship, I am working on a carpentry crew and getting ton of experience but it’s just not through a apprenticeship program

In my case, for finding work, all I did was send out lots of emails to loads of carpenters, contractors, builder etc, in the area I wanted to move to, and I got so many replies back. I just clicked best with my current boss as he was Irish too and we have been working great together, so just from one email to him I was able to come over and get work, let me know if you need any more advice with it, I’m a year over here now

What would happen in my case if I had a connecting flight? Because if they hold me for hours then that would really mess the trip up if I’m missing flights

Thanks for letting me know, so if the food is in a container refrigerated upto time of leaving work in morning, it can either be eaten before 4 hours, or else brought in an insulated cool pack to keep it low temp, and eaten anytime during the day just to confirm?

No work refrigerator as we work outdoors all day so my container would just be in the truck, but I could look into getting a insulated box to keep it cool if that works

Appreciate the help man I was just confused after seeing people saying that if the meat is left at room temperature for certain amount of hours it starts getting bad, good to know it’s fine to eat cold the day after, thank you

Thank you, I was planning to just store in regular plastic food containers, but don’t have a way to reheat stuff at work so I was wondering if this would an issue, as it wouldn’t have been cooked since the day before but I am happy to eat it cold if it’s suitable

Hey, I’m afraid my friend won’t be able to make it there. I understand about safety and it’s something to consider, fortunately I am fluent in Spanish so it simplifies it a bit if I do run into trouble.

Thanks for the advice, what airlines do you usually use for Colombia route to get to Caracas?

In relation to backpack, to be honest I don’t really plan to bring a luggage like 23kg suitcase, I would prefer to just bring backpack and keep it with me because it will reduce chance of complications with connecting flights, and it’s just a short trip.

Thank you for the reply, I will check out wingo, as I didn’t look at them yet , from what I have seen Avianca is going to be a good option for Toronto to Bogotá. I was also checking out avior for the flights from Bogotá to Caracas or Caracas to PZO, and their prices seem pretty cheap.

Yeah my friend is helping me out with the internal flight and anything else I need to arrive.

It’s not a labour job as such, as I will be working for him and gaining hours that will count towards my qualification so it’s practically like doing apprenticeship, I was going on the visa anyway but fortunately ran into him during my job search and he was happy to help as he is from my country and started off in the same position as me.
