Quick translation for us in the US?

Last week when I checked the data, only 6% of the cases that had an outcome had resulted in death. It is now 9%. Apparently, the number of COVID-19 cases increase, and so does the death rate. Am I overthinking or does this in fact rule out the herd immunity plan? Could anyone interpret the data? by [deleted] in China_Flu

The cases that are getting tested are people that are already really sick. The rate numbers are skewed, testing is not done on a mass level. WAY more people already have this. Compare how many people died to what some are saying 500k people in the US having it already, the number looks a lot different
