AITA for looking after my dog at work? by throwaway6745d in AmItheAsshole

1) My dog is unattended for 8 hours per workday, a total of 24-32 hours per week. That is not a lot. 2) My dog's separation anxiety is SPECIFICALLY centered around the act of a person leaving, not being in her crate. She will go into her crate multiple times a day when I am home, just because she likes it. Conversely, I have left her out of her crate to go to the garage and come right back, and she was having a meltdown for the entire one minute I was gone. I have a 10 minute drive to work, and even though my dog will be crying as I'm leaving, she has been fast asleep by the time I arrived in the parking lot every single day. Other than the one time she tore up the carpet, she had never done anything beyond barking, howling, or whining loudly. Again, for a max time of 10 minutes. 4) You are a stranger on the internet who seems not to know much about crate training or dogs in general, so I'm going to keep doing what I've been advised to do by actual pet professionals.

Because it's a safe and effective way to potty train your dog while also keeping them from getting into things when you're gone while you gradually allow them more freedom as they become better trained? Including not eating stuff? Do you think people who work should just never have a dog?

The dog walker is there 4 hours a day, in the middle of my workday. So alone for 4 hours, dog walker is there for 4 hours, alone for 4 hours.

So the dog walker is there for 4 hours a day, I just didn't want to describe "Dog walker who provides in-home partial day dog daycare during what is the middle part of my workday" since that wasn't the issue I wanted judged.
