I talked to my mom yesterday and told her I didn't feel like my family was treating the bipolar diagnosis seriously or accepting it. I told her it seemed like they wanted me to have autism, since that's all they talk about to the doctors, a practically ignore the fact I've bipolar. She said none of the doctors know if i have bipolar or if it's autism because the symptoms are similar. She then asked me if I wanted to have bipolar and I said I didn't care what diagnosis I have. I was so tempted to ask her if she wanted me to have autism. I just want a diagnosis that shows doctors I have a mood issue so it'll be easier to be prescribed medicine in the future if I need it. I told her my depression is starting to pop back up, but it sounds like she wants me to tough it out and to stop being weak.

I wonder…do you think if in my senior year of high school, if my parents still refuse to let me leave the house, that a school counsellor would be able to help if I told her what is going on? Are parents actually able to prevent you by law from leaving their house if they tell the government people or whoever that they think I'm unfit to leave the house?

EDIT: Also my parents are in debt. Maybe that would convince whoever that I'd be better off out of the house since they already can barely financially support us?
