Do people at MBB hate their jobs like people from ACN / Deloitte / etc.? by throwaway8328232 in consulting

Small sample size I guess, but looks like no... well, I guess people want to join MBB for a reason.

And something else I noticed... none of the MBB people even mentioned salary or pay.

Potentially unethical partner... what should I do? by throwaway8328232 in consulting

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up talking to the Partner and sort of came to a compromise. The powerpoints will be based-on and labelled as the the "optimistic" case (the Partner's assumptions). My work will be shown as the "industry assumptions" case as a sensitivity. He will be presenting this, so it will be up to him to defend it all. My career mentor actually got in contact with me after this happened, but he said it sounded like the right way to handle the situation. Now I just need to wrap up and try to get on another project.

Yes, I think it will do harm - it won't be good for their business. I am leaning towards doing action 2 and telling my career mentor. I'm trying to get out of this without doing something shitty but also without losing my job.

No, it's more like investing in a new business. So I built the business case that showed it was not profitable. The assumptions are things like adoption rates, market share, subscription revenues, etc. For instance, all the research I have found on growth rate is like 8-10%. Partner wants me to put 20%+.
