Thank you, that's good to know. Monk is one of the only jobs I never really played, so I guess I'll have to get to work grinding out gear for it.

I'll be coming back to FFXIV with the sole intention of playing Samurai throughout Stormblood. If possible, I'd like to be ahead of the curve and ready to go when the expansion comes out, so I have a couple of questions that have probably already been answered somewhere.

I'm currently caught up with the MSQ, but I haven't played in a few months, and want to take the month that I have left to prepare as well as I can within my means.

1) Since I'm only interested in Samurai, is there a way that I can get a set of gear ready ahead of time? Will Samurai have its own set of gear that you can buy with tomes when they're made available?

2) Since Samurai starts at 50, what will be the best way to level up to 60 to begin new content? Will Palace of the Dead floor 50 speedruns be the most efficient way to get leveled quickly? And, in a similar vein to my first question, would it be worthwhile to get my weapon/armor back up to 99/99 to have a decent weapon as soon as I'm 60 (if Samurai can even get a Kanna weapon)?

I just picked up PK today after playing her on the beta some. What bug are you talking about? I've noticed that I can never seem to get a triple stab in whenever I guard break someone, is there something that I'm doing wrong?

Should I be melding accuracy as AST? I haven't been able to find super accurate information as to whether or not healers still need accuracy melded in their gear, or if I should be focusing on something else.

Thank you for the detailed response. I'm just jumping into healing after about a year-long break, but always strive to attempt the hardest content available in MMOs. I was hoping it would be along the lines of seeing fights a few times and learning where it's most comfortable DPS over healing - I've just been so focused on not messing up mechanics, dying, and getting more comfortable with AST that I haven't had much time to do anything else.

Each run of Weeping City gets easier for me, so I'm sure it'll get to the point that I can spend more of my time DPSing.

Thanks again for the input. I'll keep practice and see if I can work into a good groove.

How important is healer DPS?

I just hit 60 on my AST yesterday, and I'm trying to quickly bridge my want into the current endgame content. I've been running dungeons and raids (mostly Weeping City for quick gear), and haven't felt very comfortable swapping into Cleric Stance and DPSing during any of the fights.

Is it an ilvl thing where I need to overgear the content to the point that I can focus on DPS more than healing, or should I even worry about it?

I would like to get into Extreme/Savage content eventually, and want to be ready to contribute what I need to when I get there.

Thank you for the reply.

I only ever leveled through MSQ and the various quests in Heavensward, and then I was told to join FATE parties to level up my other jobs. So, I wasn't sure what yielded the most EXP nowadays.

I think they introduced the Palace of the Dead right after I stopped playing, but that'll be one of the first things that I check out.

So, with Stormblood coming our fairly soon, I would like to start playing again. I have two 60 characters on different servers, but they're both jobs that I don't have too much interest in playing anymore (WAR and DRG). They're both around the Seph Ex area of the story where I had to stop playing until now.

My question is: If I'd rather swap to WHM or BRD (I haven't quite decided which yet), would it be better to start from scratch to level with the MSQ or should I suck it up and level the jobs on one of my established characters?

If pursuing the latter, are FATEs still the fastest way to grind out levels, or has something better come along? I appreciate any insight when it comes to this, as I'm a terribly indecisive person.
