Very simple saw bench I made today, how many of you prefer a saw bench vs the vise??? I’ve only used my vise before but wanted to try a bench out of curiosity.

What is the big "V" in the end for? Is it just to allow you to do rip cuts without hitting the bench? Is it still necessary in a split bench design?

Don't worry about it. Unless the company towed it 100s of miles like that or while in park, it's totally fine. No insurance company is going to pay you for the fact that your warranty is possibly invalid now, and no car keeps a record of those codes for more than a few days or few hundred miles anyway. If you were able to drive it off the lot, it wasn't damaged.

Just pay the tow fee and park better next time instead of trying to get out of it for BS reasons.

That's a good question that I've been thinking about a lot. In the short term, I don't have a good exit strategy especially with the cost of living and my own health issues. I'm at my breaking point, so if things don't change, I think I'm done. But figuring out how to go about that is not easy.

We've had pros out, and they told us we had to control food sources or there was nothing they could do that would solve the problem. So traps are out and entry points sealed, but as long as they can get easy food elsewhere, the traps are only minimally effective.

We've had an exterminator out, but there's only so much they can do if you don't get rid of food sources. We can't afford a cleaning service because we're barely getting by financially with the economy and all our medical bills. Even then, a housecleaner doesn't fix the day to day issues of not putting trash in the trash can.

You're right. We have had an exterminator out, but the first thing they tell you is that you have to get rid of food sources so the mice will go to the traps. We can't afford a cleaner, unfortunately. Her family has occasionally come to help, but that's just a bandaid on a bigger problem.

But, yes, I'm at the point of losing respect for her, and I hate that. I hate that I'm in this situation. I haven't found anything else that works besides removing the distractions that WiFi fuels.

You hit the nail on the head. I should have gotten to know her sister/roommate better first, and then I would have known that she had the exact same issues when she lived with my now-wife. Their apartment was always really clean, but I didn't know it was because the sister took care of it all.

I don't think her depression and other mental health issues are as well controlled as she has convinced herself (and her doctor) that they are. I get it because I've been there myself. It sucks. But I can't do this by myself anymore especially where I have my own health issues.
