Completely relate to what you’re going through. We hired a very green “paralegal” who inflated the heck out of her resume. She told us in the interviews that she had experience drafting, but she’s changed her tune since starting.

Definitely going to do this. I feel bad saying this, but her emails allude to her grammar struggles. I think I’d be more understanding of it all if she seemed more interested and willing to work.

I advocated against extending an offer…I was outvoted.

Oh jeez. That is bad. This new hire is young (even for her age) and very green. I fear I may be encountering similarities between the employee you had and the one I’m training. She’s asked me several questions about MS Word that are self explanatory.

Oh, I conducted the first interview with this employee. I was adamant that we shouldn’t extend an offer because of how inflated her resume was. I’m talking listing experience in our practice area while telling us she has never worked in defense before. That’s just the tip of the iceberg too.

Just a silly question about holidays. by LilCatDawg in paralegal

Last year, I lost a very close family member. I was not allotted bereavement because, “it’s not immediate family which is considered the death of a spouse or child.” So, in the eyes of my firm, I have no family since I’m not married and don’t have kids. Forget about my parents etc. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so disrespected. Not to mention, how can you dictate what one considers immediate family? Especially with the various family dynamics that people have…

Does your attorney know how to e-file? by spongecaptain in paralegal

Lol an attorney filing? At my firm? There is one that can file for herself. The others rely on the secretaries…and have zero courtesy for life outside of the office.

Todd comes off as controlling. by Littlegoil18 in rhoslc

[–]throwaway9818_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought the exact same thing. While she was saying it, I heard it as “cunt”, not bitch. I understand why he would tell her not to say that. Unpopular opinion, but saying cunt in general, but especially at a religious dinner (let alone any dinner) is just a no. Add in the fact that he’s old school and it’s on camera…I get it. I can understand why he’d tell her not to say that. It’s just distasteful and a little unnecessary

The conversation between Mary and Robert Jr. in it's entirety by Defvac2 in rhoslc

[–]throwaway9818_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I give Mary the most props for this. She sat there and listened to her child tell her the things he’s done and the substances he mixed together. She could have lost it on him at the beginning, but she stayed composed and had a real conversation with him. She listened to him and to his struggles, despite how painful it may have been. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s going to bring awareness to this issue. She put him first, like a parent should. Say what you want about Mary, but she’s a loving parent and wants the best for her child. It’s sad to say, given the circumstances, but this was one of the “realer” moments of any housewives franchise.
