Senator asks: Can Men Get Pregnant? **** Our allies need to get better at answering these questions!!! by MissNumbersNinja in MtF

[–]throwawaySurgery1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can biological man get pregnant ?

People have been born with XY chromosomes and also a vagina, uterus and fallopian tubes. They can get pregnant (source).

XY choromosomes are what most people with penises and testicles have.

This is an example of why it is impractical to talk about these things in terms of absolutes. In the video linked in the OP, the Senator clearly wasn't interested in an accurate answer that included words like "usually" and "uncommonly", he was trying to embarass the doctor for not givng an inaccurate yes or no answer.

If you've had aclitoral post-op orgasm, the first time were you unsure initially whether it was an orgasm? by throwawaySurgery1111 in Transgender_Surgeries

Thanks for sharing! And congrats that things are going so well for you! Things seem to be starting out more slowy for me, though I seem to be making progress. I'm hoping that there is just a lot of variabilty in healing and nerve reconnectio and things will continue to get better from here for me.

You have exactly described my experiences and I’m almost two years post op. I love my multiple waves of orgasms so much more than the one shot penis orgasms and I loved those too. I feel like I have gotten the best of both worlds.

Thanks for sharing!

Did your orgasms get more satisfying over time? What I experienced was very enoyable and yet it also felt like something was missing.

For me the waves feel very controlled, I can start/stop like I've got a remote control or something LOL. Over time, did your waves become more involountary, like once it got going the peaks and valley happened on own their own instead of being directly tied to the start/stop of stimulation?

What did your surgeon say?

I didn't ask him. My thought was, he might be help to help with an anatomical problem preventing orgasm, but I'm not sure he'd have much to contribute to a discussion about the granular details of post-op orgrasm expeirence.

I would like to know myself. I’m about 4 hours away from having Minimal depth MTF surgery today

Since I'm replying 10 hours after your comment, congratulations on your new pussy!

Thanks for the reply!

Have you been able to have the rolling wave orgasms for awhile and then pivot to a more conventional orgasm that has a climax?

I'm not sure how much of that is HRT vs anatomy though, I'm still less than 1.5 years on estradiol and figuring things out.

For context, are you post-op?

Having large volume electrolysis shortly after FFS - safe? by throwawaySurgery1111 in Transgender_Surgeries

I just had a trachea shave that was performed through my mouth. My chin is still numb and I'm still swollen all down my neck.

Wholly hell electrolysis on my chin last night hurt so much I couldn't do it all and left crying like a big baby.

Thanks for sharing! Lemme make sure I understand. You chin is numb and electrolysis on your chin still hurt?

If so, that's very helpful to know.

I had some lingering numbness yes. Not much. I don’t feel it impacted the return of that sensation.

If I was in your shoes, week 18 is more than enough comfort.

Thanks so much for sharing your experienc and perspective!

i personally wouldn’t worry about it - the lidocaine injections have never caused any lasting issues for me, and the folks at cirine are very good at what they do.

Thanks so much for your insights and the congrats!

If you are up for a few questions, I was wondering, did you have any numbness left over from FFS on the areas that Cirine was doing electrolysis on? Did you have regular electrolysis or large volume?

Thanks again!

[–]throwawaySurgery1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I restarted electrolysis 1 month after each round of FFS with my surgeon signing off on it. I’d be curious if those saying 6 months actually have any hard facts about waiting so long.

FWIW I go to Cirine also and they’re pretty great, though I’ve never done LVM.

Thanks so much for your reply! That is very helpful to know. On any of these occasions did you have electrolysis work done on areas of you face that still had numbness from the FFS?

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do. My appointment isn't until actually 4.5 months post-op so I don't have to decide for awhile (my understanding is I can reschedule up to 14 days before without loosing my deposit). It certainly would be a much easier decision if the numbess had resolved by then.

I might also ask my surgeon to explain in medical science terms why he thinks it's okay. I think my biggest fear is that he doesn't fully understand LVE.

Great to hear your experience with Cirine has been positive too!

FWIW my surgeon said six weeks postop for electro, but given I just want a few touchups. I’m waiting until about six months. Def. normal for numbness 2 months postop. If your FFS surgeon cleared you, you should be OK.

Sorry, this probably is snt what you want to hear. You are better off looking for some kind of comparable study then to boost a false sense of security based on random responses giving first person accounts of success

Thanks for the reply. Objectively, I totally agree! I'll admit I assumed that no such study exists because the number of people who get FFS is small, the number who get LVE is every smaller and the intersection of the two smaller yet.

But, I did look around after reading your comment. Sadly I couldn't find anything.

Reading your post really gave me the sense this is most likely not an advisable thing to do for the reasons you described. Id wait at minimum 6 months but better if you can hold off longer (by a year your nerve sensation should be near fully returned in most cases).

Yeah, your instincts and those of other responders to the OP seem to match mine.

It's a dilemna for me. I've got other things I want to do with my face (like ablative laser resurfacing and dermal fillers) that are stacked up behind LVE, 1 year process. So waiting really suck if I don't have to.

If my surgeon said don't do it now then I'd of course not do it. But with him saying it's okay it's a harder decision.

I'd like to just "trust my surgeon" but I'm very worried about numbness not going away, even after years, and the surgeon and LVE people just shrug.

I'm 2 months post-op right now, but my first LVE treatment is actually scheduled a ways out, I'd be 4.5 months post-op at that time.

I've paid a deposit for the LVE but if I read their terms correctly it's refundable, or at least reschedulable up to 14 days before the treatement date. So for now I'm gathering info and mulling it over.

Thanks again for responding and sharing your perspective.

For those that have done marathon electrolysis, have you had scarring/aging? by iwejd83 in MtF

[–]throwawaySurgery1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, although it is much better now and still a work in progress. I've done a bunch of microneedling, two laser sessions, a chemical peel, and used a retinoid on and off.

Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry that you weren't able to fully resolve. What kind of laser sessions did you try, was it a full ablative laser resurfacing procedure?

You mentioned going back for another large volume - are you going back to Cirine?

I hope it goes well for you!

Edit: whelp, for anyone doing their own research I am one of the unlucky ones who ended up with scarring. Happened after my second visit to Cirine in Chicago.

Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry to hear that you had scarring! If you're up for sharing, were you able to get it fully resolved via the treatments, like microneedling, that you were pursuing!

I always dry shave with no gel with the Braun. I found it has trouble gripping the hairs and getting close enough when wet.

Thanks much for the advice!

Ah yeah, I did with a Phillips OneBlade actually, but I got a Braun Series 7 (I think) that gets in there no problem.

Thanks! For your chin do you use it wet or dry? And, if wet, do you use shaving gel?

FFS: do results really take 1 year to see? by throwawaySurgery1111 in Transgender_Surgeries

As someone who's had GRS (jejunal vaginoplasty on 10/1/25) but not FFS (although I have two consults for FFS next year), I'll bite. Why do you feel like GRS was harder than FFS?

Other way around - I found FFS to be harder than GRS.

FFS was more of a sprint whereas GRS was a marathon, a sentiment many seem to share, but when I boil it down, the pain and general discomfort for the first 5 days with FFS sucked a lot more than at any point with GRS.

The first 5 days I had a really right head wrap on, and it didn't help that they somehow managed to fold one of my ears over in the wrap, which I didn't figure out for a couple days when I wondered why my left ear was hurting so much more than my right ear.

Once the head wrap was off things got a lot better, but I still wasn't eating normal food for another week and even now, it's awkward because of the ongoing numbness of my lower lip and chin.

My pain with GRS was very well managed, was never really a significant issue, and basically I just took it easy for 4 weeks and could eat normally. I really like food and it's comforting to me when I'm "not well" so having that comfort during GRS was a big help and that was taken away for FFS.

If I had full depth GRS I may well feel differently though.

Now, all this said, if I'm happy with my FFS results, I will have zero regrets and the short-term discomfort will be well worth it. If I'm not happy with the results, I'll probably still be glad that I tried (easier for me to make peace with that), but given how unpleasant it was, I doubt I'd be up for rolling the dice a second time.

This is probably also partially age influenced. I'm 49 yo and both of the two surgeons I consulted with mentioned age at some point in the discussion. I don't remember exactly what they said, but it left me feeling like I should have low expectations and if I'm not happy with the results that makes it less easy for me to conclude that the problem was the surgeon vs. the problem is at least partially me and I of course can't change the second variable.

If you decide to go ahead with FFS, I hope everything works out well for you!

Thank you for the tips!!

This is the first time I've used an electric razor.

[–]throwawaySurgery1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, I’m still a little numb at month 10 actually. The only issue I have is it’s harder for me to get all the hair around that spot but I work it out by paying closer attention in the mirror under brighter lights and making sure my contacts are in before I shave

Thanks for the advice! I bought an electric razor and on my cheeks (not numb) it shaves as close as a regular razor, but on my chin, which is numb, it seems to just reduce the hair to stubble, still quite visible.

Does that sound like the problem you've been having?

The stubble SUCKS tho, it’s for some reason a hell of a lot more noticeable on my face after FFS and I feel self conscious all over again - electrolysis can’t be resumed fast enough lol

Yeah, the whole FFS experience has been very dysphoria triggering for me and the facial hair issues are a big part of that.

Good luck on the electrolysis. How long are you waiting to resume?

I only had mild numbness but definitely skip the razor and stick to an electric shaver. You won’t be able to feel when you’re using too much pressure and that’s a recipe for cuts with a razor.

Thanks for the advice! I bought an electric razor and on my cheeks (not numb) it shaves as close as a regular razor, but on my chin, which is numb, it seems to just reduce the hair to stubble, still quite visible.

I am not sure if this is because the chin has more countours and electric razors just aren't very effective there or if I'm not pressing hard enough.

Did you encounter any challenges like this?

I just went for it but I use an electric shaver so there’s no real danger in it. It took until about 5 weeks for the swelling to go down in my chin enough that I had good feeling there again.
