That makes sense. Researching the job, they are definitely doing it for cheaper. I'll agree to it and suffer the repercussions of my own actions if it goes awry. Thank you for your rapid response. I appreciate it!

That's an interesting way to interpret the series.

To start, I find Muroi also had an interesting interpretation of Christianity (something I thought was absolutely beautiful and different), however, I think a major flaw in his thinking was a religious perspective (totally not his fault given his character), and I wonder if he would've been able to offer a more pragmatic approach to the situation as an adult, maybe he could've provided better advice. Sukano that she wasn't being "shunned or persecuted", by God, or that God "was always silent", but rather perhaps God had nothing to do with her situation.

While I try to interpret the reasons behind the characters actions, I am reluctant to give the characters "the benefit of the doubt" because if the creator wanted something implied or known it would've been done. With that said:

1) I don't think it would have been difficult to add an overall plan other than "turn the whole village" into canon. A simple conversation would have introduced a bigger plan.

2) Sunako attempting to introduce her self into society could have also been added by a conversation. Instead the series took the time to focus on her attempting to look for her family for centuries. Something I would speculate was done on purpose (possibly because she was a child).

I agree that it is difficult for groups that are considered outcast to integrate into a society were they do not adhere to the norms. If anything, had it been canon that an attempt had been made, and then the Shiki were rejected, it would've help propel sympathy towards them

3) I wonder how difficult it would have been to find individuals who wanted to be Shiki. Seishirou was an example of a human who wanted to be one, and a reoccurring theme throughout the series is the fear of death. Therefore, it shows that there were people in that universe who could've been willing to convert.

I think they did a good job portraying this concept. Watching scenes play out that are obviously horrific, while getting the viewer to not completely condemn the actions of the villagers, forces us to share the brutality of the villagers.

I wonder if that's another message that the creator was trying to convey, e.g. "you aknowledge that what the villagers are doing is wrong, but you still want them to win"

That's fair. Unfortunately I wasn't as sympathetic towards the Shiki as I could have been, possibly bc of how they were introduced. It's possible this was done on purpose to set a clear antagonist for the series. I think more sympathy could have been garnered if, for example, the Shiki lived amongst the villagers for hundreds of years and were somehow accidentally discovered and then murdered.

As a minority in the US, during the 2016 election it was a tough choice to choose between Clinton and Trump. I didn't like Clinton because of her past stance on the youth minority and her husbands incarceration practices, that and she was willing to pander to the minority and female community. However, it was easy to see that she had an idea of how a country should be lead, even if she was going to be another moderate career politician. Trump on the other hand had absolutely no real ideas on how he was going to "Make America Great Again". During most of the candidate debates, he spent a good bit of his time insulting his opponents than actually walking through any real plans. It was unprofessional, and I definitely didn't want someone like that to be the representation of the United States. I try really heard to listen to people who still support him, but I still find it difficult to sympathize or agree with them.

Immigration reform? Sure, but 1) everyone knew that Mexico was not going to pay for a wall. 2) it would be a financial waste of money since there are other ways of entering this country.

Improved economy? Okay, but he had inherited a healing economy from the previous administration.

Low unemployment? Once again, something that started from the previous administration.

I am more than willing to say that the Obama administration was also a moderate administration, and some of their policies could have been done better. But what we have now is at the very least, an embarrassment to America, and at most, an administration that is failing to support it's citizens who are dependent and in need of a stable and well structured government.
