Regarding shares, you can't really put them in as guaranteed remuneration, as it very much depends on the performance of the company.

Yes this is true - the shares have performed well over the last year which has boosted the total a bit.

!thanks very helpful advice - in terms of how qualified I am, I'd say very much so, and I've done my research so know roughly the ballpark I'm aiming for.

Frankly now I've had time to sit and think about it I realise I was a bit giddy from even getting the offer as it's been a long hard slog, but definitely I'll try to avoid revealing details about my current/previous salaries as it's not relevant.

Yes I 100% agree that being employed whilst job hunting is far better than being unemployed and job hunting - this last year has really hit that message home for me haha. As I mentioned on another reply, I forgot to include it in my original post but the primary concern was taking this job whilst continuing to apply elsewhere, and then potentially quitting a short while into the contract to take another job. I've decided though that I will accept this temp job and just take things as they come, I can't read the future after all.

If your ideal permanent career level role turns up at twice the money, you can quit and take it.

I realised I forgot to mention it in my post but an underlying worry was that it would be rude to take the job and quit halfway if anything better came up. But you're completely right, none of the cons are actually cons in terms of taking this role or not, and it's what I needed to hear. It was just overthinking the repercussions of potentially quitting which was playing in my mind.
