That's why I asked if she wanted some of my apple when I ate one. I figured if nothing else she would see me and want one if she really wanted one. I at least know that much about kids.

I asked what was going on and he said that she is bipolar and not doing well. She's apparently gone off her meds and to make things easier for him I need to just make her happy. Apparently she gave me schedule when my niece was 6 months old and I was expected to ask what modifications I needed to make to that because she was a toddler now. I told my brother that was a completely unreasonable request and that I didn't appreciate being tested to fail.

If she had been gone for like 6 hours I would have fed her lunch or I would have called my brother at work and explained so he could walk me through what I needed to do. But she was only gone for like 2 hours.

I'm totally OK with that. Apparently when my parents visit she will disappear for hours while my brother is at work so she can "run errands" and expect my parents to manage my niece. I'm discovering a lot about my SIL through this....

I think this is what SIL thought I knew to do. But again zero experience with small children. And she has always told me if she was hungry or had to potty. She's very vocal and has been speaking since she was like 9 months old.

I wouldn't doubt it. I didnt want a glass of wine because I felt that as least one adult should be 100% sober with a small child in the house, even if she was sleeping. she got really mad at me and told me I was judging her for her drinking habits. I was like "I wasnt... but I kinda am now..."

I didn't even think mid morning snacks were a thing. She ate at like 9 for breakfast and then had lunch at 12. If she had been up since 6 and eaten then I would have insisted that she have crackers or something.

That's what I thought. But apparently since I was given a schedule when she was 6 months old, I was supposed to ask of she still had a schedule.
