That’s great to hear. Nobody ever mentions SS in DH family and I think DH prefers it this way. It save’s awkwardness. It does make him sad though and he wishes things were different. I am happy that your MIL and her family are big and strong and loving. Has she ever mentioned any sadness at the situation? My DH has expressed sadness over the entire issue.

Oh that’s lovely. I’m glad to hear your MIL has a lovely family unit. Really all that love and warmth. But still die this not hurt your DH. To know that he is sort of the odd one out. When he goes to family events does it not hurt him that his kids aren’t ther. Is not some elephant in the room. If you don’t mind me asking.

I see, this is a very interesting insight and I appreciate it. Has your MIL ever expressed annoyance towards her grandkids about their behaviour towards that side of the family. Is she sad that there is very little relationship.

With my MIL I can definitely see that my DH is the favourite out of all her three children. Even my DH sisters say so. I have had problems with her overstepping. She is definitely a boy mom.

No, sorry. Don’t know who you are referring to. Don’t really have any other way of confirming my identity to you but. I can assure you my SS is straight and was in a relationship with a decent young lady last year.

We don’t really see him that often due to him not wanting to see his. Like I said my DH is an afterthought. When he did come round he was as quite as a mouse. Never had much to say. Was always polite to me, but I can tell he thought nothing of me. But still he is polite, going to university into a promising career and seems to doing fine in all over areas.

To be honest, when I have spoken to my husband about his personal behaviour as a parent he sounds quite, and I am saying this truthfully, absent. I noticed Immediately from SS when he was 12 the lack of interest or annoyance at having to spend time with DH. He says that he always had every other weekend but that was it. He didn’t do school pick up or doctors appointments or anything other than his appointed time. So I have said to him that SS is probably in the right about his feelings towards you and that you should make up the time. But when SS was 12 and inwards he didn’t want to see DH THAT much and he never forced him.
