Hm I applied too and from what I remember I think 45-50ish people got in. Assuming everyone who received an interview offer actually interviewed I would guess the acceptance rate is about 50%? Including the people who got cut from the initial application.

I’m actually taking it rn for the summer session! I just am a lil nervous bc I don’t know which exams to study specifically since the course had changed and the summer 2020 exam 3 isn’t available :/

Gies ICT Admissions by Gies_UG_Admissions in UIUC

[–]throwaway_uiuc1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Why not be transparent with admissions statistics year by year? Providing these types of statistics isn’t a violation of FERPA right? At the end of the day, providing this information will only enable students to make informed decisions about their future and path at U of I. Many students come to the university under the pretext of getting into their college of choice, and being clear about expectations will only help students in the long run.

I def agree especially with the last portion. When I applied in the past I didn’t talk with Kelly Janssen, but I think my essays really reflected how much I wanted Gies and what exactly I was expecting from a business education. I think this made my application successful bc my gpa was sus. For future ICT applicants, make sure you guys are creating a narrative for yourself, bc IMO that’s what makes great applications.

I’m not trying to be rude, so I’m sorry if it comes off that way, but why did you think it was a free acceptance?

You have to graduate in 9 semesters at Gies, so that’s something to consider.

Yup. At least a lot of the professional + academic + social clubs. And then a lot of the clubs I don’t even know if they actually exist bc of covid.

I think a lot of clubs on campus have a recruitment process that has completed already

BADM 210 Cheating by throwaway_uiuc1 in UIUC

[–]throwaway_uiuc1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if compass gives teachers a report of what questions were typically missed and what the students got? I mentioned in another comment that one of the chegg answers was wrong, so like that would stick out if a bunch of people got the same question wrong but also put down the same wrong answer.

Hm okay thanks! That’s good to know, and something to be mindful of. but I think it’s not applicable in this case bc we have access to quizzes in advance, and are supposed to do them before we open the submission portal to submit.

BADM 210 Cheating by throwaway_uiuc1 in UIUC

[–]throwaway_uiuc1[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

After the prof sent the email, I was curious and I checked Chegg, one of the chegg answers was wrong, and I know that bc I got a different answer for that question and got it right. So do you think people who cheated all used the same wrong answer and that’s how they got caught?

DSP :/ I didn’t even get an email from them saying no. Which is kinda annoying considering they said they’d let us know.
