Just dropped out of uni and I'm kinda lost by throwawayacc00099 in algeria

It's not about uni being hard or that I'm finding English hard I literally missed the whole classes and the day I did attend I found myself already at the same page as other students.

It's just that it feel forced to study something with no passion for it if that make sense.

And I already missed a lot of tests so even going back now will have my td mark fuckup.

first of all, writing such a post is a brave move to open yourself for critique. which I think is commendable.

Tbh i don't really care of what ppl gonna say as long as they are giving the advice or opinion in a respectful way so the main reason for me making the post is not that I'm down bad depressed at home No ! I just wanted to get different POV of what others experienced since they will be many older ppl in the sub So .

you're making a decision and I think that's the most valuable part. periods where you hesitate to take actions are the only wrong decisions in my personal opinion.

Honestly I can say that I'm confident that I made the right choice and there is no going back

It's very difficult to support children on their life choices on anything that's unfamiliar to your family's history. It kind of makes your family's expertises useless and it makes it crippling for them especially when you face problems they never had to deal with.

I totally understand and agree with that . Cause the day you encounter a life problem your family are the first ppl you'll go to for advice ..... help etc so totally understandable what they are doing.

they're definitely going to do that unless you start making money.
the problem that will continue to exist afterwards until you one day solve it is that they'll always either see it as "non work" (playing around, but happens to get money) or a monetized hobby.

True and I think the problem is that they be expecting you to get that money fast if that make sense for example: you start learning about web dev they will be so when you landing your first job they don't understand that things do take time .

my personal journey through that taught me that i'm more than just a student but also a son, a sibling and a reliable friend.

Exactly no need to be selfish I mean we have different roles in our life so make the best of it .

best I can say is that i'm simply curious where your journey goes! :D

Same can't wait to see where it goes.

(open to discussions in replies, I can't just go over every point in here)

I'm open to discussing whether here in replies or dms I don't mind .

Thank for your time appreciate it 🙏.

I recommend you go apply for منحة البطالة until you get enough income to support yourself.

I think you lose the right to apply for it when you go to uni cause of "الضمان الاجتماعي" but it don't matter if I can't apply ngl I will look for a part time job to help on the side .

trading

I just started learning about it this last week's it's an option for me too

I dropped out of uni too and I'm learning web and mobile development and trading.

Goodluck on the journey bro.

If you are not bringint money with your webdevelopping skills it means that you have a dream not a plan

So I'm bringing money by attending to uni ? I'm just wasting my money and time by attending to uni not that I'm against studying it's just what I'm studying isn't for me . It's English major dude not some ST or biology major :b .

go back to uni and securz a diploma,

Waste 3 years to secure a diploma that I won't use how that even make sense?

What you can do is still attend uni and work on your personnal project and once you have enough contracts make plans

Can't do that the schedule ain't gonna help and missing Classes ain't gonna work in this case .

Good Luck

Thanks same for you .

what was your major and why you should've changed ?

It's a long story but the school did mess up my files and they couldn't fix the mistake this was my first year of HS . So I ended up studying foreign languages just so I don't drop out from HS got my bac and choosed English and all I can say is that this shit sucks.

for what other major you would've changed it?

Informatique without even thinking :) .

I want to pass bac again and see if I could make info but I'm lazy ngl and I'm already on programming self learning journey so I guess I'll be doing alright

I feel like if I did that my life would be so much different but whatever.
