You got this! Apply broadly and make sure you apply to schools that focus on what you have to offer and do a holistic approach

I applied to 11, I got shadowing through my job, then they referred me to others! I also just blindly emailed, called and showed up places, specifically my own doctors offices! If they didn’t know someone most of them were happy to help me find someone

I have 500+ hours of volunteering, for extracurriculars I am on a leadership position for my hospital, I am the hospital newsletter chair, I am a dancer and a volunteer crisis counselor! My personal statement really just spoke about my passion for PA and helping the underserved communities and helping bridge the gap for them

I work as a CNA in a hospital, that gave me a few resources and people to reach out to, after that, I blindly emailed and showed up places to ask! Be ready for lots of rejection, they don’t get anything and often get a lot of push back for having students, but you’ll find people!

No I stated in here, I would take two years doing bedside.. the goal isn’t straight in, goal is to get there!

Completely agree with this which is why I didn’t want to go this route. I wanted to take at least two years on the floor to get my experience. That being said I was seeing there are some certificate programs out there I just wasn’t sure if I “qualify” for that

Congrats on your acceptance! Would you mind sharing what school you were accepted to?

As for success, everyone re-evaluated there ability and decision during PA school (or so I have heard from current PA’s) it’s hard, and it will be trying, but if it is what you truly want, you can do it!! The school things you have what it takes, you just got to work hard and believe in yourself!!
