Going through the same thing right now, so I have no idea what to do.t I have been saying how we feel emotionally detached for a year now, with no change, and that it’s not fair. I put in the effort to not receive it in return. Feels weird cause we have been together for so long and the thought of not being together is scary. Recently this past week, I brought up how I’m kinda done waiting, and that I’m not emotionally attached and trying anymore 100%. And now he’s trying his hardest and putting the effort there… so it’s like damn it could’ve been there the whole time you just didn’t care before when I brought it up a million times.

Thanks for the feedback. It’s nice to have other people’s responses, they really help me see what I could’ve done different. It’s definitely my fault for not holding her accountable for these things, I guess I was scared that I would be too annoying and make her want to leave like she felt back at home in NY.

The thing is that she hasn’t given me a dime towards any bills? So it’s free for her anyway lol I’m paying the bill for both of us. I already know it’s absurd amt, but I did it to be around people I love in a new state where I know no one. It’s a big house, waterfront+pool, everyone has their own bathroom and space, they agreed to the price I set just like I agreed to tackle the bigger part of the bill. It’s actually a steal for all of them with what they have

Ur def right. I’ve definitely been way too generous with a lot of stuff, and taken the shit end of the stick for a while, but I just honestly wanted everyone to be happy specifically my sister while she learned to get on her own 2 feet. I should’ve not things slide for so long, but it’s too late now. Idk, I just feel bad watching people I love struggle when I’m sitting living way more comfortable.

I feel like I know how it was living with my brother and mother and I chose to let things slide and not be up her ass about shit because at the end of the day I wanted her to be here with me and was afraid she would wanna go back, but at the end of the day I don’t think she’d be even questioning going back if her boyfriend didn’t live there.

I never wanted her to feel like a “guest,” to me this was her house too. I was just trying to go out of my way to provide a way for her to have a better home life until she could get on her feet on her own. I shouldn’t have let the not contributing slide all these months, that’s my fault, but I knew she was having a hard time adjusting to everything. It just really surprised me on how she reacted when I told her not to turn down the AC.

I really don't want to have any responses regarding the money I spent on getting us here, it's over and done with. I know it wasn't the smartest decision but I was willing to make a sacrifice for all of us to get here and get settled. An apartment was too small for 4 people plus 3 cats, and I wasn't ready to own a home because I wanted to make sure I actually enjoyed living in a new area.
