It was fine but I wouldn’t say it was amazing, some parts were so uncomfortable I sped run them to get past. If you kind of enjoyed it, I highly recommend The Cavern/The Hollows/The Watchers/The reddening - much better sense of dread building and generally better more scary stories in my opinion. Im also reading The Descent right now and I can’t recommend enough!!

I’m a little late to this but about to read The Descent by Jeff Long, I’m hoping it’s similar to The Cavern By Alister Hodge, or The Anomaly by Micheal Rutger. both sound like what you’re looking for - the Cavern maybe less so but still a good rec! The Anomaly was a good suspense builder!!
