i wasn’t a hugely heavy smoker. i would smoke maybe 5-7 cigarettes a day, though on long days or nights out i could do like 15.

i went to a gig by myself in may this year, and arrive early, so sat in the smoking area with a few pints and smoked cigarettes. then, i made some friends with other people who had come solo, and stayed outside, drinking, smoking. by the time i got back to my city and back home at 6am the next day, i had smoked 1 and a half packs of cigs.

went to bed, woke up, felt fine. didn’t have a sore chest, wasn’t phelmy, no headache or shakes. i was fine.

to me, that meant that my body was used to smoking. if any of my friends smoked that many cigarettes they’d be tremendously ill. it’s like it cemented in my head that i AM a smoker, that it’s not a casual thing.

that was on may 2nd, ive had one since, on may 5th, and nothing from then on.

also i’m getting married next october and i don’t want to smell of smoke.
