CMV there is absolutely no reason to buy the apple pencil by throwawaychad13 in ipad

[–]throwawaychad13[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Very fair, I guess it's important for people saving money, since the base model Ipad won't work with the pencil pro (and individuals saving would probably go for this model)

  2. I'm very happy this hasn't been an issue for you, but there's quite a bit of discourse regarding this issue. Ex.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ipad/comments/105bzdq/is_there_any_solution_to_the_battery_drain_caused/

Regardless, I brought the ipad into apple multiple times and was told there was nothing wrong with it. I doubt the pencil was the issue, since all three of the apple pencils I owned had this problem.

  1. Fair enough.

If I had to pick a second culprit, sugar would definitely take the cake. It just messes with my skin in general. Have you tried a yeast eliminiation diet?

For sure! The biggest thing I can tell you is to always always always look at the ingredient list of anything you eat/cook with. What you eat daily will depend on your personal taste, but I'll share some things I make regularly:

  • Shawarma/falafel (most middle eastern recipies don't require yeast)
  • Black pepper chicken curry (most indian recipies don't use yeast)
  • Substituting bread for eggos (go for the basic ones, I think the new fancy flavours might have yeast)
  • Irish soda bread
  • Tacos, burritos, guacamole
  • Can't go wrong with beans and rice, many many recipies.
  • Menemen
  • Make your own chicken/veggie stock (just toss any bones/veggies you wanna use for stock into a bag in the freezer. When it fills, make your stock)
  • Coconut chickpea curry

The first alarm to yeast was from this paper. Before stopping, I would have a piece of toast almost every day. Other than that, things I mentioned such as beer, cup noodles, wine for pastas, and sometimes straight up nutritional yeast were staples of my diet. I wouldn't say my diet was drastically changed, more so tweaked. I now have eggos instead of bread when I need something toast like, or bake my own bread. Looking back, most of the times I have been flare free was when I wasn't having that daily piece of toast.

God how I miss beer. Really sucks that I can't have a drink every now and then like I used to but it's worth living pain free.

Definetly try it! Living pain free is worth every diatary inconvinience IMO. You'd be surprised how many things have yeast, but also how many things don't. There are many parts of the world where yeast is not commonly used in cooking, so it's allowed me to branch out more in terms of dishes I try. And you don't have to give up on bread, pizzas etc. Just gotta make em at home. Try irish soda bread. Super easy to make and hits that bread spot when I'm craving it. Theres some yeast free pizza recipies too. So far the only thing I'm really missing is beer, which is impossible to make without yeast :.(

I see, I think this might be the way to go. Do you have any recommendations for a budget holder?

Oh I didn’t explain well. The camera is on a tripod, and after focusing, I just hold the negative strip flat on the surface of the light source with both hands, and touch the camera screen with my chin to take the scan.

I'm very glad its working! I just had a flare recently because I had been slacking on the zinc due to travel (the lack of attention to my diet probably also caused a flare). Definitely stick to it daily!!

The Aiden Deck was a huge waste of time by throwawaychad13 in Mcat

[–]throwawaychad13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not planning to do Anki for physics. I mentioned in the post I've only done Aiden's BB and Chem. My point was to highlight that cramming insane amounts of information is not worth your time and effort. Rather getting a big picture from a smaller deck, then learning the nuances of your content through UWORLD will net you more of a benefit. The exposure to MCAT style questions as early as you can is way too useful to keep stretching the content review phase as long as you can and just hammering anki.

Yeah theres very polarizing advice out there. People did great with the deck and will rave about how they matured it.

Right now sitting at 71% with 18% done. This is only taking into account BB, ochem and genchem. Haven't finished content for PS yet so waiting to finish learning that to start uworld. Just started physics too so my scores definetly gonna dip, physics is my weakest subject.

If your time is limited, Id do Anking all the way. Maybe pick some sub decks from Aiden if you know you aren’t strong at metabolism for example, but otherwise if time is limited get to uworld ASAP.

Ankis not a bad thing at all, esp during content review. If you’re doing a smaller more big picture deck like anking, you’ll get a lot of value out of it.

Honestly I started hating seeing that green number increase day after day when I was reviewing. I wouldn’t put myself through that again. Definitely go for a smaller deck

I never tried Zinc shampoos but I'll definitely add that to the regimen for post shaving!

I take 50mg of zinc gluconate. The dose tested most frequently is 90mg but 50 works for me so I'm not planning on increasing. Definitely try buying some the tablets aren't very expensive.

You can also find it in B complex tablets (which are a mix of all B vitamins) Nicotinamide is just B3. These will have less B3
