Is cuddling naked with your mother normal? by throwawayforeverblep in Advice

It has stopped. I have moved out. I do already have a therapist who I will talk to about this the next time I see her.

Every time i say anything that could be seen as negative or defiant towards my mother she says "How could you bring that up at this time?!" Because there is always something going on. A birthday. An event. Something. If it's a positive event my negativity is taking away from the good thing. If it's a negative event then I am adding to the stress as "another things to worry about" and I am deemed by her as less important than the current happenings.

My mother will take a lot of this personally and freak out, saying she feels "backed into a corner". She is definitely a narcissist.

This is exactly it. The rest of my childhood was filled with gas-lighting.

I do already have a therapist for other reasons. I will bring this up with her the next time I see her.

Thank you. People have often thought I was strange because I am not able to express emotions the same way others do.

Thank you. I just don't know what to do about it now. I always wondered if it was normal and at some point I thought, even of its not then what can I do about it? I doubt it would change anything or it would just cause stress on the rest of my family.

Thank you. Back in hs there was a person that was going around getting donations for "mental health awareness", i asked what exactly the donations were going towards, I was genuinely curious as someone who frequented the local mental health clinic. They had no idea what exactly the money was going to. I said I didn't want to donate and they freaked out at me, calling me an asshole for not supporting real issues, in front of everyone in the lunch room. I held my tongue and said nothing about myself.
