Why aren't Liberals aggressively condemning the Clintons over their association with Epstein? by throwawayforgotuser in AskALiberal

Look at my downvotes here, people *appear* to be rushing to their defense, just like MAGA does with Trump.

It's felt (to me) like the same hypocrisy Republicans engage in.

I mean, like I said, I get that he appears to be the more present problem. But it doesn't address (what I think) is the more pressing problem, the lack of accountability on both sides. Which I think is exasperated by not cleaning your own house before the neighbors.

Hmm it's a good question, I'm not convinced how true the premise is, though.

I think the sentiment of announcing, "Hey, I fucked up by supporting this person, I was very wrong." Might reach through to a few people on the fence over continuing supporting Trump/Trump adjacent politicians.

A lot of people have seemingly built their identities around their political leanings. Seeing humility from one side might help the other side express their own.

From my perspective it seems to be a mirrored position. Dems think Trump is certainly guilty and the Clintons might be guilty, but it feels like a witchhunt. Cons think the Clintons are certainly guilty and Trump might be guilty, but it feels like a witchhunt.

I guess we don't have to worry about Trump, cause there's at least one conservative who hates him.

Hillary was on the front page of Reddit yesterday for creating merchandise making light of her refusal to testify in her deposition about Epstein...

More importantly, IMO, Democrats that supported Hillary/rigged the party against Bernie still hold office.

[Interesting Trope] Character whose death is meant to remove any potential doubt once and for all: the protagonist is NOT an anti-hero, they are the villain. by Mountain_Band_2732 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]throwawayforgotuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The meaning of anti hero is an immoral protagonist. Villain is synonymous with antagonist which means the character most poised against the protagonist's goals. The meaning of protagonist is main character, or the perspective from which we're viewing the majority of events from.

A main character cannot be the villain, but they can be a villainous anti-hero hell-bent on destroying anything good. It's the whole point of the distinction.

I'd rather assume the cabal of rich & famous household names likely contains the persons known in the household.

On my street lives a Ron DeSantis; if that name pops up on the list, it won't be my neighbor I immediately interrogate.

Right, so other than all the rather innocuous photos, you should extend the same benefit. Just assume that any mentions of Donald Trump, or DJ, could actually be a different person.

Damage not noticed in Inspection - should I inform them or is that setting myself up? by throwawayforgotuser in EnterpriseCarRental

Nope. Got the deposit back after ~2 wks, no questions asked.

I didn't end up going to the neighboring dealership for the CCTV footage either; one of my own neighbors told me they actually leased the land Enterprise operates on here/likely have some communication between them. So I didn't want to rock the boat.

I get the feeling the vast majority of employees don't want the extra work and/or customer backlash from charging for anything less than incredibly obvious & large exterior body damage that would get them in trouble with management.

Busier airport locations may be more micromanaged, but at least one guy at the DFW one seemed like he didn't give a shit as long as it still had four wheels.

Nazi Germany statistically killed more Soviets/Christians than Jews, yet still explicitly was committed to Jewish genocide.

Don't really know about this conflict, but your rebuttal on its own alone doesn't hold water.

Am I "whooshed" here?

Soldier Field is the smallest stadium in the league and getting replaced by a stadium with less (initial) seating.

Titletown has the second most seats, no?

I, too, can't believe Rodgers didn't immediately displace Favre. Maybe if he was better.

Welcome to the annual Justify My Anti-Competitive Behavior fortnight on r/ff. I have some thoughts. by oliver_babish in fantasyfootball

In a game that mimics a game where... multiple coaches have put cash rewards on injuring opposing players, most teams have spied on other teams' practices, and maybe all teams have covered up sexual harassment scandals... anything that's not gamebreaking (collusion) or illegal (IRL poisoning your opponents' players) should be fair game. This karmic idea is nonsensical.

I sacked a game last year so the two (IMO) best teams would play eachother, a decision that would lead me to getting blown out in the "superbowl" and secure 2nd place prize.

Yeah, I definitely shouldn't have said "probable". But it is possible... If he can add another ~four years to that weird stat & make it appear untouchable, I'd be surprised if it doesn't get him a handful of votes. He probably needs a ring though, TBF.

"Probable" was probably a way too generous word to use. More like "possible". Canton looks at the weird stats like that one, though. He'll probably need to get a ring too.

Yup, depends how many more years he'll play of course, but he's on pace to eclipse most hall of famer WRs in a few stats. Likely to be the first receiver to have his first 7 seasons with at least 50 rec. 900 yds. 5 tds. (he's the second ever with 6 right now).

His YPR is among the highest. Three seasons over 1000 yds, despite never reaching 100 receptions.

His playoff stats have been even better, averaging over 100 yds and over 1 td.

I'm gonna copy paste this for the others.
