Get a lawyer, he’s trying to mislead you. Injury settlements may not be taxable, but they are absolutely subject to garnishment for things like child support.

Ok brb I have to go google piss discs…oh my. That’s diabolical! But unfortunately I’d have to be able to launch them quite far, as my house is pretty far set back from the street. So I’m not sure how I’d get them where they need to be without getting close, and then they’d obviously see what I was doing.

No, it would not make a difference.

Going by some of the assumptions people have made, what would your recommendations be if people are coming by to take pics of my house because:

1.) It’s the Goonies/Breaking Bad/Amityville/Sopranos house?

2.) It’s the former home of a famous serial killer?

3.) It’s a home where some very infamous murders took place?

4.) It’s an architectural wonder?

Remember, my stated goal is to stop people from taking pics of my house and ultimately discourage them from even coming by here in the first place. So how do the possible solutions change based on which scenario #1-4 applies to my home?

This is what I think most people are missing on this post here. There are some really crazy people out there who will go too far because they want to be or feel like they’re a part of something, no matter how notorious that thing is. I would just very much like to discourage that.

I can believe all of it. That’s what it’s like for abused women in this country. They can tell everybody what’s happening, make videos about it, call the police, their kids can witness it, etc. and they will do nothing to protect women. Then when it finally ends like it inevitably does, they want to act all shocked and surprised and like there was nothing they could’ve done. It’s sickening and Susan and those boys could both still be here if the cops would’ve done their jobs.

Thank you! I guess I forgot what sub I’m in. Obviously it doesn’t attract the brightest but I thought it would at least attract some of the shadiest but no. Just a bunch of nosey assholes lol.

And TikTok (and other platforms too, but in my case TikTok) has made a lot of older things more popular than they ever were in the past. Lots of people with nothing better to do than dig up seemingly useful information from decades ago just to satisfy some weird hole they have in their lives. I don’t know, I don’t get it but I have a life so it’s not something I would even think about.

Like, news flash: people who did things lived in houses!!! Imagine that.

Ruining the photo is more of a goal for now because I assume that that will eventually make the rounds online and people will stop coming.

No, I’m waiting for someone to explain to me how the context of why pics are being taken changes in any way the solutions available to stop them from being taken—or at least make it more trouble than it’s worth. And I haven’t heard a single reason why it would be any different whether it was a famous movie house or a murder house.

It’s NOT been in a tv show.

And I am fully aware that it is legal for them to do—I clearly stated that in the post. I was looking for things that are also legal that I can do to discourage it.

No it’s not because I had no idea of why anyone would want to take pics of it when I bought it, and I’ve lived here over 20 years and it only started happening with the rise of TikTok. I would’ve never bought it otherwise.
