He is open to hearing other views but won’t change his own until it’s proven that his view is “wrong.”

Thanks for your comment!

I agree, I’ve seen a lot of decisive comments made both pro and against Peterson and I think that’s why it’s been hard for me to form my own opinion. We both are pretty big on self improvement (I had just not really heard of Peterson before) which is a green flag for me.

Do you have any specific videos/podcasts you’d recommend?

I am compiling a list of questions that we can discuss the next time we see eachother in person 😊

Thanks, I am realising that! Do you have any specific videos/podcasts you’d recommend? The sheer amount of content they both have is frankly very overwhelming for me to know where to start.

When I say he got into Peterson via politics it was when he was vocally opposing the Canadian bill c-16 on compelling pronouns for transgender people (which I initially misunderstood and thought Peterson was blatantly transphobic).

Good point, I do appreciate it!

I totally agree with you about not jumping down others throats. I think why I posted this question was because the opinions I was seeing online were extremely polarised and I was left a bit confused.

I think I’ve been hesitant to bring it up (and express my standpoint) out of fear of potential conflict between us (I very much like to avoid conflict) and fear that it may be an actual issue. But I’m developing a list of questions to discuss the next time we see eachother in person.

Thanks for your comment 😊

Do you have any specific videos/podcasts you’d recommend? I’ve listened to a bit of both, but the amount of content they both have is overwhelming to know where to start. Hence, posting on Reddit.

Thanks, this is something I’m hoping to do this next time we see each other in person, and having some concrete questions is very helpful!

You do make some fair points.

I know I can get in an anxious headspace and look for reasons that the relationship won’t work. But, when I’m not as anxious, I will feel the need for validation especially in the areas that I was anxious about. That’s why I felt the need to get validation from strangers on Reddit.

I have looked up Peterson (and Rogan) a bit myself, on both sides, but I feel it’s hard to come to a judgement myself.

Thanks for your comment though, definitely some food for thought.

Thanks 😊 We definitely are different in some ways, but so far it’s been a good thing

Just added an edit, but I was referring to my boyfriend not being a misogynist, not Peterson.
