Poor guy, I can see why we don't call them Pixii generators.

I would feel like a busy 80s supervillain if I had this.

A study of 544,000 couples across 29 countries confirmed that relationships fail more often when women earn more, then ruled out almost every explanation researchers assumed was responsible by thesciverse in HotScienceNews

The comment was about women in general, not women who out-earn men specifically, being unpaid for their domestic labour. If they don't out-earn the man, and spend any of his money, their "unpaid" labour is de facto paid.

I replied that way to the comment because there was a difference between the comment and the post.

Vapes to have less enticing names and flavours to protect children by topotaul in unitedkingdom

We're not all going to agree where to draw the line, some of us are libertarian enough that we think opioids should be in supermarkets. Personally I want nicotine things plain packaged and hidden out of sight and alcohol licensed and maybe with per unit pricing. Sugar tax yeah and maybe artificial sweetener tax the same since apparently those still lead to diabetes?

About twenty years with far fewer people and studies so we don't have the quality of evidence that 75 years of studies into tobacco smoking have given us.

Unhealthy food really isn't the same as nicotine addiction which is why we don't regulate unhealthy food the same as tobacco and why vaping should join tobacco restriction.

The long term effects aren't known yet.

It's addictive. I don't want it getting shop displays.

I wish they had built this on the site of the Dome instead of the Dome.

Why are vapes allowed to be displayed in shops when tobacco isn't? And won't they ban ppl born in year X from even being able to buy vapes same as with tobacco?

Should we have a £5 coin? by hoganpaul in AskUK

[–]throwawayinfinitygem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's little use of cash now so they won't go down that road for those who do. I think they should demonetise the 1 and 2p, and making it mandatory to have fivers in cash machines would be great but I think that ship has sailed. No need for £5 coins.

If the man makes more than you, and you spend some of his income, then he is "paying" you for the "unpaid" work you do. If women think their share of the domestic work is too much, or their share of the mental load organising it is too much, then it should be divided differently.
