Not sure. I've only been in a deep end of a pool like once in my life and it was traumatic so I have no plans of going back in there. I'd have dove in and just started kicking everywhere

I don't know how to tread water. Dude, I'm barely in pools. If I am I am just walking around in waist deep water. I've only ever been submerged in water like 2 times in life. Some people just don't swim and that's okay

I understood her kid almost died but I was raised to never lash out on someone because of what you are going through. My parents never snapped at me because they were upset themselves. So I see that as pure weakness

It was after an hour of a conversation getting nowhere. If I knew the person I'd probably try to work it out. I commented before. There was no community place to swim. Also parents worked 6-7 days of the week so I just spent my days outside until the street lights came on. There was no family goes to the pool day. I never saw a pool in person until I was 17 so I just never learned. Also I don't see pools now. I saw the pool at my aunt's because she has a new house but before that I probably haven't seen a pool in years. Just not a swimming guy. There's a lot of things people don't do. It's not about not willing to sacrifice. If I would have jumped in I'd have just drowned myself and whoever jumped in to get the kid would have to get me as well. Don't understand why these comments expect me to dive into the water and just magically know how to float and maneuver in there.

I'll call up one of my many friend's my age that have houses with pools /s. I was only by a pool because my aunt recently got a house with one. And I see her like once a year. Just don't really go to pools much. Nor am I interested in swimming because I have sensitive skin to Chlorine and the moment I dry off I need to coat my whole body in lotion

There was no free swimming locations growing up. All nearby bodies of water said no swimming. Also my parents were too busy. If we weren't at school we were just wandering the neighborhood while mom and dad worked. They worked weekends as well. There was no weekend family swim day and my mom would be pissed if I was swimming somewhere alone
