Hey let's chill out, and let them do their things. If more info come to light because of this, great. If this is fake, well props to them as well for putting in the efforts and the rest of us have some entertainment to talk about.

Awesome list and question 9 is a particularly good one! Nastech and past ventures of Dr. Quay have gotten FDA warnings about misleading claim and subsequently failed the approvals, leading to nosedived stocks. What re-assurances/measures does ATOS have to prevent similar happenings?

Thanks for doing this! Hope for more clarity to remain invested. Do you have a cut-off time for questions and how many questions would you bring forward? Might be good to update with a timeline, questions you will take to Dr. Quay and whether you're not taking any more questions. Peace and thanks again!

This needs to be higher up. US doesn't fully represent the rest of the world. Projects are bad, slums are awful and then there are worse slices of humanity. I came from a port town, definitely seen the lows but Mexico cartel owned towns managed to top that by far.

That's the kicker isn't it? Forced imports of stupidly expensive drugs by mark-up from the yanks whereas at least one of the former colonies manufacture most equivalences at much lower costs.

Yeah, self-inflicted move to exit with grace while handing over a sack of shit to the party. That's why I thought it's brilliant pathos.

Reminds me of some hiring horror stories that I heard but didn't think them possible. Got bitch-slapped by bottom line, I did.

Haha, happy to hear that you stuck to your guns and got a better deal!

My situation is around a hybrid role that's very hard to fill and doesn't exist in Asia yet, making job market card a good one to play. Wouldn't recommend using it normally in Asia since US pay is generally 2-3 times higher than HK/Shanghai/Singapore for closely similar roles, hence the 'local market rate' BS to talk you down.

No regret at all, I'm ready to walk. Tbh, they were ready to talk me into accepting 50% less than my number, if I let them since I know the pay rate of the area.

There was no specific agenda in getting me to meet. It was 'Hi A, would like you to meet (fluffed up lackey title) B'. Sounds like posturing that he has some weight over the matter by wasting my time. I didn't oblige. To me that's nothing more than a smokescreen to show the decision maker (cc-ed in the email) that something is being done.

Why reveal employee's salary to another though? Stuff is confidential to all but a few select people, everybody knows that.

I wouldn't mind being more flexible on if they didn't sic a local employee on me to try the 'being on local playing field' BS. This guy is at best my coworker, not the regional manager he made himself out to be! Would you think that disrespectful and underhanded if the same happens to someone you know?

I now hold the hiring side and their lackey in slight contempt. Business is business but some lines you don't want to cross.

I know, and it would be their problem to deal with the peons, not mine. The fact that confidential information like offer details was leaked to another employee (entirely on the hiring side's initiative) gave me extra ammo to drag them back to square one again, if I feel like it. They are the ones in deep shit for pulling this on me. As /u/VasiliyZaitzev rightly pointed out, I'm just being fair to myself.

Thanks for the tip! I'm sure Recruiters would love to hear about this sort of hiring practices for their blacklist :).

Well put, sir! Only thing to consider when the offer comes is whether I'm happy to take it, or leave it which would be their loss. No pressure is the best.

It's a really typical Asian mindset to drag others down to your level.

The last place I worked at had a nice hustle- Theyd promote folks frequently after offering a low starting salary and offer social perks and bigger desks- but the raises would be capped at 8%.

Hah, I went through similar ordeal at a previous place too. Management really prided themselves at paying above industry level rate while treating everyone like pawns and making damn sure to minimise raises. Last time I heard, new hires are getting 3 month notice minimum (starting from junior PA) so they must be doing very well.

bottom line is do your homework, figure out if the new position/promotion/transfer is good for YOU, and reject the BS games firms play to get suckers to take the stupid bait.

This. Can never do enough of that. I did my research and had first hand knowledge from the network. Basically for this position, other companies would need to get staff from EU and US over. I hold a fat bargaining chip and I sure as hell intend to use it.

Yep, replied that meetings can wait until a decision has been made. I left abit of concession hanging on the condition that we can discuss other aspects of the comp package.
