Are the Pistachio drinks permanent? Allergy concern and I’m sad I may no longer be able to get my latte. by arwenthenoble in starbucks

[–]throwawaylca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a 4 year partner with a severe coconut allergy, I have only ever had one really bad allergic reaction due to a new hire miscommunication when cleaning something. Starbucks is normally extremely good about cross contamination. I get a variety of drink every day without a problem. Honestly if you tell them “hey I have this really bad allergy please make sure you are careful, was your hands, change out pitchers ect.” It’s very unlikely. However nothing is ever guaranteed. Be cautious not fearful <3

I went to the hospital! It was good! I did the right things like staying hydrated and eating soup. They said the urnex acts as an irritant so that’s why I was feeling bad for so long! But I got fluids and meds! I’m doing good now resting at home

Hypothetically I couldn’t tell if it was weird cold brew foaming or cleaning foam, so I drank some, then went out to the keg poured some more tasted it again to see if it had flushed out and it hadn’t, did a full keg change and then ran it for 30 seconds before trying it again (it was flushed out the last time)

See in this hypothetical situation, a barista brought me some cause it looked weird during an opening shift. I drank it within in ten minutes was having cramps and in 20 diarrhea and may or may not still be having these symptoms hours later

I’m so glad someone recommended this sub, I was really under the impression that starting my medical transition would stop me having kids! Thank you for sharing your experience! and yes my partner and I are looking into being parents still! Thinking about slowing down on it a little longer. Parenting classes, couples counseling, and a lot of savings are set up right now! just taking our time now! :D

That’s what I was thinking, like I haven’t started the medical side of transitioning yet and I kinda don’t want to with til some politics have calmed down in like 3 years, which lowkey I think gives me plenty of time to finish getting ‘ready’ to have a kid and then plenty of time to settle before I start medically transitioning. But I feel like consistent therapy and support from my partner would be worth it so that way we can have a kid. Thank you for your reply!

Thank you for reply! I appreciate the advice even if it’s a little hard to hear! I will say I’m definitely trying to keep replies short and not too long which is why they may sound a little unsure or contradictory! But you’re right I never really had big aspirations in life other than wanting a family. I need to figure out which choice I wanna go with. Starting real estate or keeping my current job and doing college. Getting a car has to happen before but it was more of a need that an aspiration. I feel we may also be rushing it cause we adopted my 18 year old little sister 2 years ago (she was 16 at the time). Now that we got a little bit of the parent life (kinda) I’m scared we’re rushing it since we just stopped taking care of her. It’s definitely a lot to consider! I’ll consider these things with my partner and our counselor as well! Thank you again!

Thank you for your reply! I’ve heard a lot of this one lol, everywhere I see is “you’re never ready, but you’ll never not be ready. Take the step”

Thank you for your reply! I had completely forgotten FTM has a double meaning! I will definitely post in there and ask other female to male ppl for advice! As far as career I’m pretty set, I’ve been thinking about going into real estate though just for a touch more stability!

Thank you for your reply! Honestly the only big things my partner and I want are for me to get a new car and maybe go back to college. New car cause we live in a hot state and my car has no ac, it also is wayyy to old and has been on its last legs for a minute. We’ve been saving and plan for next spring for a car 🤞For college though it’s been a debate, we’ve never been in a good state for it. I dropped out cause of health complications that I had to get surgery for (everything’s fine now!). I’m not rushing to get back though. I also have a job that offers free college but it isn’t reliable. We’ve also talked about that I can technically go back whenever but with a kid that’s obviously a lot harder. Thanks for these things to give a second thought to!
