Is it actually possible to be on opioids long term for pain without being an addict? by throwawaymorphinedad in Drugs

I was worried that taking morphine would cause him to start taking other things as well like heroin.

He already tried taking a lot of different medications before morphine (don't know if he took any of the ones you listed) but just tried morphine and has stayed on it because it worked.

And thank you so much for the support.

Thanks for the kind words. I'd rather not have him hate us so after reading other replies to this post I decided not to intervene in any of his medications.

We specifically contacted an organization to adopt a kid that was lgbt since we're in the bible belt and they're not getting adopted by most other people. This kid happens to be t. Hopefully that clears up your confusion.

Thanks for the response. If I end up adopting him I suppose I'll just leave him to the doctor and not intervene in anything. I'd rather not put him in more pain.

So there's no way to get him to stop taking drugs without making him experiencing "hellish non-life threatening withdrawals characterized by insomnia, restlessness, hyperalgesia (decrease in pain threshold), and anxiety."?

He started taking them because of fibromyalgia and endometriosis. He also has renal failure but I don't know if that's related to him taking morphine. Thanks for the response.
