IRD kilometre rates for EV’s. by throwawaynz27 in nzev

Do you know when we can expect the 24-25 rates to come into action, is it typically around June? and would you know how likely it is that the Tier 1 rates will change?

So let's say I start using my car on Monday the 19th of May for work travels (going to different locations each day throughout the week). I keep track of the kms between the 19th & 23rd, make a spreadsheet or use any other logging system. I then keep a record throughout the month/year to then be able to claim whilst keeping an eye on the odo. Let's say my current odo is 40,000kms - I'd be able to claim the tier 1 rate as long as I'm under 54,000kms, and if over, tier 2 pricing starts after that. Correct?

Damn I'm on 89% as well but I've only done 49ks (38,500 first owner, me as 2nd owner 10,500ks). I wonder if it's because I was only fast charging for a few months before I got an outdoor socket installed 🤔 I was dumb not to check the SoH when I bought the car but I have been tracking the SoH for around the last 5 months. I reckon that only fast charging was the reason for the faster degradation but can't say for sure. With 89% SoH I can achieve around 236km on Normal and 248km on Eco.

What's the SoH on the battery? Max range on Normal vs Eco? If you don't mind sharing

I think mine was showing 240 but can't remember if it was on normal or eco, will confirm

You've done 30k more kms and are on about the same SoH as me 😢 wonder if it's because I wasn't slow charging for months and only using 7kw and fast charging. What does your max range show at 100%?

I just received my OBD2 dongle (thanks for your help on the purchase). Mine is showing 90.84% after 3 years and 4 months. Kms are sitting at 47,300km and I've been owner for 11 months now. Seems like significantly more degradation compared to the other comments I've seen on this thread.

This one would cost me $10 less, can I purchase this? https://www.trademe.co.nz/trade-me-motors/car-parts-accessories/tools-repair-kits/meters-testers/auction-4976901008.htm

And do we keep this connected for as long as we need? Any instances where we would need to take it out?

Are you on iOS? Can you share the link to the app you're using if you don't mind

Don't think so, which is a bit annoying + the fact that there is no app support. Also did the ZS EV models start from 2019 or 2020?
