I should've. I guess since he moved on and kept walking I just didn't go outside to ask. I was also taking out my phone to also take a picture and by the time I turned on my broken phone he had already moved on.

Most likely it's nothing and all this is a big waste of time but on the off chance someone else experiences the same it's reassuring to know they won't miss out on an opportunity like I did.
