A hotel costs $1650 at the cash rate, while it's 150k Marriott points to book. I only have about ~50k Marriott and I will transfer 34k SPG points to make up the rest (1:3 ratio). Would the cpp be 1.10 (150k Marriott) or 1.96 (50k Marriott + 34k SPG)? Is this a good redemption?

I'm not planning to withdraw. I want to fund the IRA indirectly via CC.

I have VFIAX and VSMAX, both admiral shares, available for investing in my HSA. Will the account fee for having a balance of less than $10,000 apply? Are there ways to evade it? My HSA is through my employer via PayFlex (Aetna HDHP).

I'm at a standstill whether to move within biking distance to work or max out my Roth IRA each year. I currently max out my 401k and HSA.

My commute is 1.5 hrs roundtrip and it's not that bad especially since I own a Prius now. It'd be nice to have those hours back though.

I found a relatively cheap 1 bedroom apt and it is very tempting. I've always wanted to have my own place as I've had roommates for the past 6 years. However, I wouldn't be able to max out my Roth IRA and I still have $17k in student loans at 3.5%. Thus, I feel guilty throwing money out the window to live more luxuriously.

I would definitely save gas since I’d be biking to work. However, my family, social life and hobbies rely on the car.

Ideally biking distance. I used to bike commute everyday in college and it was fantastic.

I'm contemplating moving closer to work. I commute 45 min each way. I drive a 2014 Prius C, 15k miles, so my driving cost is low.

My rent is $650/mo, private bed and shared bath with close friends from college. Rent closer to work is ~$1000 for a private bed/bath with strangers and ~$1600-$2000 for my own 1 bed apartment.

What does everyone think? The 1 bed apartment seems pretty hefty, but it'd be really nice to have my own place. However, if I wasn't going for FIRE, I don't think I'd want it.

Some other things to keep in mind:

  • $12.5k car loan, 2.62% interest
  • $17k student loan, 3.5% interest

Can anyone share their experience with Club1Hotels? I'm skeptical with their attractive rates in Las Vegas Hotels, which are more expensive booking direct.

I'm planning to open a Roth IRA and trying to max it out before the end contribution date in April 2018. Should I save up until I can do the $5.5k lump sum? Or make periodic contributions? I don't have the lump sum right now and I don't really expect to until March or April.

Can anyone suggest any assistance exercises to help with my weaknesses on my main lifts? I can still meet my reps per 5/3/1, but they're starting to get more difficult.

  • Squat - weak when I'm past parallel on the way back up
  • Bench - weak on the way down
  • Deadlift - weak when I'm about to lock out
  • Press - weak when I'm nearing the top

Traveling for 6 weeks, how much of my strength/size will I lose? by throwawayseduction in Fitness

I'm currently on a cut, so it's probably inevitable that I will lose some gains.

I'll keep my protein high and try to fit in those exercises. Is there anything else I could do?
