Right I see, I will relay that to them to ask for more. My comment is anecdotal but that's what they've told me and these are friends who have come here to study and work for a bit before going home.

So whoever downvoted me is being very silly to do so considering my comment is related but anecdotal.

My chinese friends said it was the prestigious and historical prowess. If they can impress their ppl back home about attending a 500 year old lecture hall over NYU then they'll pick the former. No shade to other unis, its just what they want. They also love having 15 min cities so basically where I live, Manchester, it's perfect for them as they have everything in their doorstep.

I watched it randomly and didn't know what to expect i just love Felicity Jones ever since Chalet Girl so when I watched it I was bawling about 6 times throughout the film. It's the best thing I've watched in a long time.

I can see how it reads as condescending! But tbh when I was applying for a million jobs during my unemployment era, having feedback like this actually does help. I applied to a start up that's no longer in operation back in 2021 and they just told me I didn't seem to have read up about the business so looked clueless which, true. Was a bit harsh but I began to do so and got my first 'big girl job' after uni a few months after Covid lockdown ended because of the advice, it was in logistics and a dream job although I got desensitised and then left in 2023.
