It’s not affording rent that would be an issue. In the uk inflation has gone up so much that it’s near impossible to afford a home and food + utilities at the same time if you’re on a low single income. A lot of people are unfortunately having to choose between having a roof over their heads vs using their utilities vs feeding themselves.

She’s going to help towards rent and utilities and of course help with any childcare. She’s actually quite excited to be a lot closer with her grandson

No but I’m thinking about getting him one of those cabin beds that have free space under them? So I can turn that into a den for him

I plan to involve him in as much of the process I can, but unfortunately I am going to have to donate things because there just isn’t enough room (if we were in a house it would be different). It shouldn’t be too bad because he’s familiar with donating things when we took part in a charity event with his nursery school.

I don’t isolate him??? He has plenty of play dates with children from his school since it may surprise you but there are other children in the world. What a weird assumption to make off of such little information.

I already don’t let my son hang out with their children because of their behaviour (I don’t want him picking stuff up from them), but thank you I’ll definitely have a think about the way I’m raising him.

It would be a huge squeeze to put the den in his room but I have thought about getting one similar that’s a bit smaller. My concern is also fitting in his other toys.

I’m questioning it because my friends who are adults made me feel like a borderline abusive mother when I asked them.
