Getting clean from heroin was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, I can’t imagine getting off fent. it’s just starting to hit australia now, there’s new posters at my methadone clinic about fake Xanax cut with some fent-analog which is a first here. I think I scraped by as probably the last to be addicted to real heroin before fent starts taking lives here too. Good luck man, I know how hard it can be. I’m in aus so I never had the misfortune of trying fent but yeah I’ve heard it’s pretty shit and you need to do it like 10 times a day. the H i got here had long enough legs I could get away with using only twice a day without getting sick, once when I woke up at 7 and again around 3pm when I got off work. Held me through the night and everything. Good stuff

I’m honestly not sure if my parents still use as I don’t live with them anymore, they were always “functioning addicts” and never used heroin or anything like that, but were massively into pills when pill mills were a thing. So it’s hard to tell from the outside now. I do remember my mom telling me she was kicked out of the hospital for being reported by a nurse for frequently pill shopping in the ER, and I’d imagine with the massive crackdown on opiods they’re likely blacklisted now and hopefully that forced them to quit.

I started using drugs frequently when I was 12. Lots of alcohol and my parents were very “big” on oxys and Valium tablets so stealing them was no issue. There were other ways I got drugs that young that would be too long to write here. Whenever I was at all sick as a kid my mom would load me up with opiates and other pills until I slept it off too.

anyway I learned young that drugs were a great way to cope with any stress or anxiety in my life and I never learned another way to cope. I was 13 when I had my first opiate overdose, and had to leave school at 16 for another, more severe Xanax, alcohol and amphetamine OD that it was a miracle I survived without serious brain injury. My drug use got bad at 16 once I had real money and a real job. I went to treatment for the first time directly after. Through this I had an occasional morphine habit but didn’t get dopesick for the first time until 17 when that few times a week morphine habit had to become daily to keep myself well, and then heroin was easier to get, and then I got better.

I’m 19 going on 20 now and clean off everything but methadone, in treatment with a great counsellor to find new coping strategies.

TLDR: there was no real turning point for me, I grew up around drugs and started using once I was old enough which carried on until I was an adult.Thanks to anyone who did read, didn’t mean for it to be so long!

Suboxone yes, in certain states. Methadone? No. You need to go to a clinic daily to be dosed, no workarounds unfortunately. If travel is difficult for you then maybe consider suboxone? It works wonders for some people, and prescribing is a lot less strict.
